Why we love what we do?
Today, that creative spirit and an uncompromising commitment to quality are still the heart of Spyderco's distinctive product line, which includes a full range of folding knives, fixed-blades, sharpeners & other accessories produced in 5 different countries, including our facility in Golden, CO USA.

Product reviews of Spyderco Lightweight Kitchen Utility Knife with MBS-26 Stainless Steel Blade and Polypropylene Plastic Handle
taylor inkster : Awesome slicer
Great knife! Sliced through frozen chicken so problem. Comfy and perfectly weighted.
Jerry M. Honeycutt : Excellent kitchen knife
Excellent kitchen knife. My wife used one we have had for over 15 years until the blade fell out of the handle (Too many dishwasher cycles). It was very easy to sharpen and didn't need it often. She says it was the perfect size and weight for her to use as the "Go-to" of choice. It originally started out as a bait knife for cutting frozen herring into halibut sized pieces :) When it finally failed on her I was glad to see they were available here for just about the price I paid many many years ago! Arrived in a very nice box! Thanks Spyderco!
Montinard : Keep browsing
The handle is bad, I mean dollar store quality may be better. A little small too for the blade length.
The serrations are a very functional pattern, but lose their utility because of how flimsy the blade is. It tends to wander around and not be that controllable as other knives. I mean it has trouble with an apple, so, disappointing. Not getting through it, just feeling like it is wandering.
Basically seems like a replica of a knife I would really like and use a lot, with a better handle and less blade flex.
Spyderco fan, but don't get sucked in by the name there are better knives in this price range. I have a similar plain edge victorinox that is much better.
Final word, I'm sure I'll find some task it can do well, but after I having used it awhile, I can say an easy I would not have bought it.
Amazon Customer : It lasts forever
Have used my old one for years. I needed a second Spyderco kitchen knife
The serrated edge remains sharp for decades. It can cut any veggies. Also great for bread and rolls.

sweetrick : Reccomend for cutting tomatoes
I highly recommend this knife for tomatoes. Very sharp and can cut through tough tomato skin with ease.
Mike : If you want a general kitchen utility knife, this is the one to get
Probably the sharpest knife I own. You have to be careful using this knife. I have no doubt that you could cut a finger off if used improperly. It's that sharp. Extremely well made and for the price, I don't think you can find better. I own two different sets of Heinkel's, pro chef and the 3 bolt sets, and they don't even compare in sharpness to this knife. The only con I can think of is the handle is on the smallish side. I was kind of surprised as it looks bigger in the picture. However, it's very comfortable and I'm sure I'll get used to it. If you want a general kitchen utility knife, this is the one to get.
Linda : Love Spyderco
Best kitchen knife. Had two for many years still holds good sharp edge. Ordered another one and getting rid of my othrr knives.
Own many of their pocket knives as well.
tim huxoll : not designed right back to the drawing board
this company has always been a cut above the rest for a list of 50 it is is not even close to even what i paid for it the handle is too small for the length so that has a tendency to pull in ones hand during use with a few improvements i would try again to see if you implemented a larger handle if that you help the overall control of the knife in my humble opinion this size handle would be fine on a shorter blade
cheap junk : the best knives you can purchase for the price
These knives are simply put, the best knives you can purchase for the price. I myself am a rock climbing guide and carry a syderco for rescue purchases (different model of course), I also carry one for self defense. They are the best.
jique : Light if you like that
Wonderful knife. It's much lighter than I expected. I would have prefered a heftier more balanced feel. The blade is sharp out of the tbox and seems to be great steel. I can't tell the difference of high end steel to good stuff, but its not cheap. Great utility blade. I know it's for paring but I use it more than a larger true utility knife.
sweetrick : Reccomend for cutting tomatoes
I highly recommend this knife for tomatoes. Very sharp and can cut through tough tomato skin with ease.
Marla Belostock : and loved it, so I ordered a new one
We had one before, and loved it, so I ordered a new one, but mistakenly ordered a plane edge( not nearly as good),so I ordered another with a serrated blade, this is a amazing kitchen knife, and my wife is very happy, and I'm back in the kings chair...
SERGIO TRES : Top super plus
What can I say... It's a Spyderco! I always carry one endura serrated to walk my dog, and it saved his life once. Now, my kitchen can be happy too. Killer blades. Complete satisfaction is what I received. And a beautiful red handle!
Jerry M. Honeycutt : Excellent kitchen knife

Honey and Tom : amazing.
My very first spyderco and I love it! I own the 4.48" Paring knife and the 6.5" utility knife and they are now the only two kitchen knives I need. I plan on owning all of spydercos kitchen knives. They cut through EVERYTHING EVERYTIME without fail! I have bought these for several people and they all love them all well. it's a great knife, you won't ever want any other knife.
Klasko : Finally! The perfect gift!
I have one of these that a friend gave me about 25 years ago. I was bummed that I couldn't find a new one as the knife still cuts beautifully, but the handle is getting worn out and the plastic/rubber is peeling off the old one. I was so thrilled to find it again that I bought this one for my daughter, and another blue handled one for myself. It is wicked sharp.
MG : The perfect size
Love the size of this knife. I had one previously and somehow it was lost. I was very happy to find another one online.
BALUGA PHIL : WOW A DASH OF COLOR FOR YOUR KNIFE BLOCK!
When you open the package and see this for the first time you're going to ask why no one thought of putting a red handle on kitchen knives before. Then when you use it you will say, this really cuts great! Now if you check my review of the other Spyderco parer I only gave it 4stars. This one is a cut above. The handle alone rates 5stars, but this serrated model slices like a much bigger knife. So even though it wont fit in my knife block parer slots, it sits with the big boys. The color of this one and the blue handled slicer from Spyderco handle a lot of cutting tasks. Buy one, you'll like it.
J. Horton : This is the best knife I've ever owned
This is the best knife I've ever owned. Have one for 12 years and is still sharp. Just bought the blue handle knife.
Southplank : Good Knife
This is a decent knife. It feels good in the hand and cuts well. I can't speak for longevity of the edge because I touch up my knives regularly to keep them razor sharp. On occasion, I do get a tiny amount of rust where the blade enters the handle. I hand wash the knife and leave it in the drain rack, point up. I'm sure this contributes to the problems. Its not a big deal. I use the knife everyday and probably once a month I'll notice a little surface rust at the handle joint that wipes off. I think this depends on humidly and how long the knife stays wet on any particular day.
I think this knife compares in quality to the similar styled Victorinox kitchen knives.
sweetrick : Reccomend for cutting tomatoes
I highly recommend this knife for tomatoes. Very sharp and can cut through tough tomato skin with ease.
Stumpy : A sharp product of the highest qyality.
Spyderco is the best and this replaces another knife that has lasted for 11 years of daily use. My wife appreciates a sharp knife.
TY : Exceptional kitchen knife. Blade is not as thick as ...
Exceptional kitchen knife. Blade is not as thick as previously owned spyderco kitchen knives, flexes while cutting which prevents making precise thickness slices. Thicken your blade another millimeter Spyderco and problem solved.
Jerry Sumral : Excellent
Excellent
Linda : Love Spyderco
Best kitchen knife. Had two for many years still holds good sharp edge. Ordered another one and getting rid of my othrr knives.
Own many of their pocket knives as well.
Cindy H : This is the best kitchen knife ever
We have literally had one of these knives for over 30 years. The handle finally broke, but the blade was still sharp! I just got my replacement, and it is the same fantastic quality. This is my go to knife for everything from slicing tomatoes to cutting meat. Amazing knife! I got a second knife so I don't have to wash the first one several times a day. I rarely use any other knife for food prep.
Linda : What can I say its a Spyderco!
I have been using one of these knives for years in my kitchen. Holds a great edge. Loved it so much I bought 2 more for myself and 2 as gifts for my family. ❤
CLARENCE ROBINSON : Sharp enough for good kitchen and eating needs.
Sharp enough for good kitchen and eating needs.
jeanette m : Looks just like the picture
Looks exactly like the picture night is extremely sharp handle is plastic overall very happy with the product would definitely purchase again from the company

Patrick B : Enduring Quality and Sharpness
I’ve owned this knife for 11 months now, and I adore it just as much as I did when I first got it. It’s serrations dice through anything I throw at it without any resistance whatsoever, even after a year of heavy use.
Get one of these: you won’t regret it.
H. J. Elston : Get them while you can!
Best paring knives I've ever found. Spyderco stopped manufacturing these many years ago and they are difficult to find. The hold an edge for forever and are sturdy as all get out. If you can find them - buy a few. You won't be disappointed.
Linda : Love Spyderco
Best kitchen knife. Had two for many years still holds good sharp edge. Ordered another one and getting rid of my othrr knives.
Own many of their pocket knives as well.
GaryKintheOC : Great Blade but
I bought this knife to replace the same knife that I bought many years ago. The good news is the blade is exactly the same, It's excellent. The bad news is the handle is much smaller and seems to be very slippery.
fair and balanced : All good
Good product - good seller!

abba : Great sharp spyder
Great knife if you want to cut rope cardboard food etc but if you want chef quickness and uniformity you’ll have to hold the knife angled toward your knuckles if your right handed due to the single bevel one sided serrated blade if your a lefty good to go when you cut using a chef knife or a double bevel blade the cut is centered but this blade will shave away from the side that has the serrations still great knife but not imho good for delicate or fast knife work or quick slicing etc I love sylerco pocketknives this makes a good self defense weapon if your attacked in your kitchen spyder edge rules slice and dice if you dont mind some sloppiness and a lot of blood loss lol
Nichole : Five Stars
Best kitchen knife ever! Very sharp, lightweight and easy to clean!
Bryan : if you like a knife that will take and keep a super sharp edge
Besides getting tired of using my Spyderco Sage to cut potatoes, onions, garlic and celery. I got tired of using the Sage in the kitchen for other stuff too. I tried ordering some other high end Japanese knock off for $10 less. I felt like an idiot for doing it and sent it back. I'm probably going to buy the Spyderco Kitchen Santoku eventually as well. Bottom line is if you like a knife that will take and keep a super sharp edge, then this it. My understanding is that the MBS-26 steel is comparable to VG-10. [...]26-Steel if you want to know more.
Craig : Let Down
First of all, I absolutely love SpyderCo Knives but this one, not so much. The handle is so small and while I have relatively large hands, this knife is for someone with smaller hands. Second, I was really bummed this doesnt come with a sheath. Like really? What knife doesnt come with a sheath? I am returning for these two reasons.
P. White : Awesome Knife!!!
My parents have had this knife in their kitchen for many years. It's been an ongoing joke in the family about who was going to inherit it in their will. Yes, it's that good! It's amazingly sharp and hasn't dulled with over 10 years of use. It cuts though just about anything like it's butter. While the plastic handle is nothing fancy like you might get with a more high-end expensive knife, it does the job nicely. Personally, I'm glad that it's made that way to make it a very inexpensive knife that anybody can afford to buy. And unlike a very expensive knife, I can use it every day and just throw it in the dishwasher and know it will hold up well.
Burp! : blade the right length for most cutting and nice handle feel
Sharp, blade the right length for most cutting and nice handle feel. Oh yes the color makes it easy to select and find.
Burp! : Best to purchase both to cover most cutting projects
Longer version than the Red handled knife I bought at the same time. Best to purchase both to cover most cutting projects. That said, if I could only purchase one, it would be the Red handled shorter version, as it has slightly better balance in the hand and during cutting. The cutting action of the blades good and loooog lasting between sharpening when used on non-bone related cutting.
Aoguma : SpyderEdge
An excellent knife for the money. Edge retention is superior. The serrations are Spyderco proprietary and very efficient. The knife is flexible and lightweight. The handle is comfortable. The system is dishwasher safe. You can spend more get less knife.
wsnarb : GREAT KNIFE
ALL GOOD. I LOVE SPYDERCO KNIVES. I OWN 10.
JoeyH : Five Stars
very sharp
