Does it have a sheath?

Answer: No, darn it! Wish it did, it is so sharp and my other one from this company did come with a nice sheath. They are so sharp they need the sheath to protect them.

What color is it

Answer: Mine has a rose red plastic handle. Rapala is a great knife. I got the plastic handle one to replace my wooden handle rapala, which i still use.

Heff : Works!

It works. Very sharp, very flexible, and large grip all make it easier to use in the kitchen or on the water. You could spend more but why bother?

If you are looking for the classic Rapala blade as lower price, this is the fillet knife for you. Forget the wooden handle and leather sheath, at this price point you get a plastic handle and sheath but you still get the great blade.

RdS : Great knife but I miss having a sheath

This knife is just as good as my others. It did not come with a sheath and for the price I did not expect it to. That being said, I did not realize how much I take the sheaths for granted, I am constantly almost looking a finger trying to get stuff out of the drawer I keep this in. It does not fit in my other Rapala sheaths because of the little finger guard. If I could redo it, I would spend a few extra dollars and get the one with the sheath.

Nice knife "out of the box", razor-sharp, 1 mm thick blade is quite flexible, the handle is quite comfortable. Nevertheless, it is not made in FINLAND. Time will tell whether the quality matches the good brand name.

RasdiBaba : Sharpy?

I have only used this fillet knife once or twice. It's a bit flimsy compared to what I'm used to, so it took a bit of HEC to get it, but once I did, it worked pretty well. I don't see this cutting through rib bones on a large fish, but it will definitely handle the removal of skin from almost any size fish. Over all I'll say it's a good little knife when kept sharp.

Coconut Mint : cheap but does the job right

Good, cheap, does the job, easy to sharpen and great for learning how to fillet and clean your fish!
The only down side would be the plastic handle. When gutting and cleaning it can get VERY slippery and needs a calculating hand/grip to prevent slipping.

Mr. Yikes : For the price, awesome.

It's a inexpensive knife with a flexible blade, but it more than does the job. Flexible blade means it's not going to hold a blade like a hard, brittle knife, but that's not the point with these. Depending on how much bone you have to cut, mine will go from singing sharp to merely acceptable in about a batch of fish. When I have a batch of tuna (average 10 fish, 20-30 pounds each), it's barely long enough to fillet out the loins and skin them. I'll have to stop and steel it at some point in the job, but usually not sharpen. Something like slabbing a mess of bass where I'm cutting through rib bones, I could probably get through 10 or so before I need to steel it. Maybe 20 before actually sharpening. It's the nature of the beast. If you want a flexible fillet knife, you will have to learn to put an edge on it, do it quickly, and maintain that edge over the cutting job.

You just can't beat Rapala for value. For the money this is a great knife. I leave it in my kitchen knife rack.

This is a great knife. I actually bought the same one (just with a sheath) for over triple the price at a sporting goods store. Useful for butchering animals, you can never have enough of these on hand.
