I love using pre-cut bags when I have multiple servings to seal. They are more expensive than creating bags from a roll, but when you’ve got several pieces to seal, creating bags from a roll gets very tiresome and time-consuming. I like to buy in bulk and cook large portions and seal and freeze leftovers.

These bags are a good medium size, very useful.

I used several of these to store everything from raw meat to baked goods. All the bags sealed well, no failures, no leaks.

I especially like that these come in a box. I had another batch of pre-cut bags that came in a plastic bag and they flop all over the place. The box keeps these neat and tidy and clean.

And at least as good a quality as the name-brand pre-made bags. I've gone through about three different models of vacuum sealers since purchasing the first one for $5 at a yard sale. For keeping frozen items edible over a long period of time, there is nothing better. We do a trip to a specialty meat market once a month, then part out bulk purchases and seal them for the freezer, so I've gone through miles of plastic media over the years. These bags are solid and a good size for things like pot roasts and large steaks.

The first thing I did after receiving these bags was compare them side-by-side with the equivalent name brand bags. Aside from the white stripe on the name brand bag, there was little difference. The other bags are about 3/8-inch wider than these bags, but these bags are about 3/8-inch deeper. That means the other bags hold slightly more volume than these, but not much.

To test these bags, I poached a few prawns using my at 158°F and I froze a bone-in pork shoulder steak. What these two have in common is they both have little pointy things that like to puncture weak vacuum bags. I was happy to find that both held their vacuum and passed the test.

In a nutshell, these are the things I noted about these bags in my side-by-side comparison:
• They hold almost the same volume as the name brand bags at nearly half the price.
• They’re the same thickness as the expensive bags.
• They are as puncture resistant as the other bags.
• The air-channel design in both bags is nearly identical.
• These bags have a notch cut in the side that makes them more convenient to use on-the-go because I don’t need scissors to open them.

Overall, I found these bags to be every bit as good as the name brand bags at a lot more affordable price, therefore, I recommend them.

Love 2 Shop : It's like magic

I've never really used these before until now. I absolutely LOVE them. They take out the air so food can stay fresh longer longer. Everything is air tight and most of all prevents the dreaded freezer burn. The bags are strong and once all the air is out, they become really compact. They are not easy to tear open. The bags are not just for food. I used them in my grand daughter's sock drawer to get more space. When used on fluffy clothing, you can really see the difference when it comes to shrinking items. then as soon as air hits it again the items fluffs back to normal. It's like magic. Super pleased

R. Grossman : You can't go wrong with this

I generally buy the rolls and make my own custom bags – it’s a little cheaper and I like the flexibility. That said, I saw this at a good price and thought I would try it. I may be hooked!

These are great bags. 8” X 12” is a good size and the pre-sealed end has a little notch for tearing that is super handy. There is a “waffle” side good for getting air out from under your food and a smooth side, like other quality bags I have used. The thickness is good, and the pre-sealed end is a bigger convenience than I thought it would be. Writing on these with a Sharpie works great, and I can’t tell the difference between these and the far more expensive name brand. I used this on a "Seal-A-Meal" without issue.

You truly can’t go wrong with this. Highly recommended, and a no-brainer!

Greendrgon : Works just as well as my name brand bags

These are a score if you ask me. The bags are large enough for vacuum sealing meats / meals for two. They work in a sous vide machine (I have no idea if I am spelling or saying that right as my guy is the cook), my guy was super excited with how well these bags worked with his mad scientist cooking machine!

Nice thickness, easy to label and they work. Great find!

I like these bags because they are a perfect size for most of my storage needs. They do seem to be a lot thinner than most of the brand name bags I use. No problems sealing them. No melting.

These are not pint-sized bags. They are 8x12 inches. I attached photos of them with a quart-sized freezer bag. As you can see, they are quite a bit taller than the quart-sized bag.

I personally am happy they are the larger size. It makes them much more practical.

Brian Kelly : As good as name brand for sous vide

These work just as well as the name brand bags.
--The thickness and toughness is the same; rib bones, for example, do not pierce them easily
--They seal easily
--They have a little notch in the side, making them easy to open. This is a nicer feature than one might imagine--you don't have to cut them open with scissors and then have to wash the scissors (which are hard to be sure are clean because they are so tight together at the pivot point, allowing bacteria to potentially hide).

Also, a general comment on bags--why buy them instead of a roll? For me, it is a question of the fact that I am really, really bad at cutting in a straight line, so I end up with a crooked edge, which is a lot harder to seal. Precut bags eliminate this problem.
