Hey Guys,
Just wanted to post an update of my Tracker that had some work done this week. Added a Power Pole: Pro Series ll the 8ft Model, Humminbird 1198c Si attached to a Ram Mount model: RAM-D-111U-C. Also, I wanted to say Thank You to Clackerbuzz for recommending King Marine Outboard for the installations and maintenance on my outboard. They did an excellent job! It took me some time to find a great place to do the work. Which, I couldn't be any happier with these guys... Awesome shop, extremely clean work and very knowledgeable employees. I appreciate it. Also wanted to thank Wayne P. on the boards here for all his knowledge and helping me make my decisions. Here's some pictures...
Nice setup you have there! I like it!
Jeff
Looks great man! Making me jealous!
Time to go dirty up that rig. It's way too clean.
You will not get on plane depth readings with the SI transducer in that position.
Thank you!! Hah oh it got dirty! Wayne, where should I put the transducer for on plans depth readings?
awesome toys. any reason for mounting it on the starboard side? I'm thinking about getting one but my thinking is since most people who fish with me are right handed the pole would be in the way more on the starboard. it would also be easier to see the pole while driving the boat if it were on the port side.

You have the right location, just the wrong position.
You have to consider the width of that transducer--all of the bottom of the transducer should be below the hull bottom.
The middle of the thickness of the left side should be even with the hull bottom--the bottom half would be below the level of the hull bottom. That would have most of the middle and all the right side below the hull bottom. The installation instructions show that postion.

So just a little lower... and That's just for on plane depth readings right? Because so far I'm getting excellent views with this unit.
Zild, I love it when one upgrades their Tracker with high level electronics and equipment.
The outfit looks great.
Let me know how you like the Hummingbird.
My friend, a professional guide and a tournament fisherman, told me the Hummingbird is much easier to operate then a Lowrance unit. I plan to upgrade the electronics later this year or in 2014. I will want the side scan unit.
And where you go with your Tracker up in Philly? Just wondering about the area.
Let us know how that power pole works. I may want to add one to my Tracker.

Yes, to get high speed depth readings.
It can be a foot higher and still get idle speed depth and scanning readings.
Using the Imaging is an idle speed or trolling motor speed function.
Good choice for a mounting surface for that large unit:
Thanks Wayne! That idea was from you lol thanks again for all your help!

Thank you! I actually choose the starboard side because I wanted my transome port side clear of any obstruction while on plane... also for the overall balance of my boat while cruising around the lake, because most of the people i take out over weigh me and to add an additional 31lbs to the port side didn't seem reasonable. Btw this power pole and 1198 is incredible.
wanted to add a picture up of where my power pole hydrillic pump was mounted.

I purposely mounted mine behind the step. I did not want to be able to rip it off running through the salad at 70 mph.
I left the dealer installed Lowrance with a through hull in the console to use on plane.

I assume you have a shoot-thru transducer installation instead of a thru-hull Lowrance installation on that high performance hull.
That is a good installation for a fiberglass hull.
Most won't install an Alumaducer shoot-thru in an aluminum hull for high speed use.
Yes - Shoot-thru. wrong term
What model Tracker is that, a 175 ?
Nice rig. Just got a new 165, and may do
same upgrades eventually.
The Power-Pole looks fantastic on your boat! You'll be very happy with it.
It's the Pro Team 190 TX 2011 model with 90HP Mercury Optimax motor.On 6/27/2013 at 12:20 PM, war-eagle said:What model Tracker is that, a 175 ?

Thank you!! You should I can't explain how fun and easy these upgrades make fishing out on the water. I was a little overwhelmed at first with the humminbird unit but once you know what your looking at and take time understanding how the unit works and put on the proper settings on your unit... Man oh man it's a field day out here on the water. The power pole makes life so much easier... These two upgrades are completely worth it. Next for me is to upgrade my Motor Guide Pro Series 54lb thrust 12v trolling motor to a 24v 80lb Minn Kota Maxxum.
Thanks again for the comment!

Thanks Glenn! Appreciate your help with the power pole selection! It's been awhile since we talked about adding one, but I finally got it on my boat.
I see you installed your mount where the cheap lowrance was. How did they end up running the wires? I was disapointed when my ram mount came that there isn't a "hole" in the base to run the wires through. Did they tap another hole near the mount?

There is a spacer to go under the RAM mount for the wires.

Thank you Wayne! Is their anything you don't know?
That is a nice setup. Is it new? Everything sure looks clean and sharp.

Wayne, I ordered that product and the puck was much too small for my ram mount. I have searched the internet for a larger "puck" to no avail. Any ideas?
You have to order the model that fits the mount you have.
If you look at the videos at the bottom of the link, it shows the larger size for the D mounts.
You just have to go through the RAM parts list like I did and find that larger size. I am not going to do it for you.
