Memly : Sleek Looking, Easy To Operate, Larger Capacity Dehydrator
This is a fairly large dehydrator with excellent capacity to make all you're favorite dried goodies.
I was dehydrating in my air fryer and just wasn't able to make much per load. Plus the air fryer is hotter, too hot for some fruits. I also borrowed a friend's dehydrator, which was a tower of white plastic racks and it only had one setting. "On" when plugged in. After trying that one, I knew I didn't want one of those.
That's why I was so excited to get this dehydrator. I made dried pineapple slices on its maiden voyage. I Google searched a recipe with temperature and time recomendations. After 20+ hours, they are almost ready. My entire kitchen smells sweet and delicious.
The dehydrator is nice looking and it is easy to use. Just power on, set the temperature and time, and it starts quietly humming. Comes with 8 stainless steel racks. In my picture, I only used four. The interior is stainless steel lined and cleans easily. I like the clear glass door and an interior LED light to see things in action but it is literally like watching paint dry. I included pictures with light off and on. The exterior is stainless, too. Wipes clean, looks sleek. It does warm up slightly, but the unit does not operate at high temperatures (internal temp167 fahrenheit max, increase and lower in 9 degree increments) so I was able to put my entire hand on it comfortably and safely.
Overall, this is a very nice dehydrator. Looking forward to using this often. Would recommend.

Thinker3 : Greater capacity, but also better results than my old simple dehydrator
I got this dehydrator with the thought that it would have much more capacity than my old plastic dehydrator. It does. But the surprise is how much better the resulting dried fruit is. I use the dehydrator only when we have more fruit in our garden or pantry than we can eat. The old plastic one had four tiers; this one has eight. But the old one turned on by plugging in the plug. No way to adjust temperature or the time. I'd plug it in at night and turn it off when I woke up. Needless to say the fruit was often overly dry. Extra crunchy banana chips and figs. This dehydrator does not run as hot. So, it seems to take longer, but you can control the heat and set the time. The result is dry, but also moist and chewy. I am still experimenting with the adjustments. I suppose I could dry the fruit in this dehydrator long enough to reproduce the leathery texture of the old one, but the point is that I don't have to and I much prefer the chewier fruit.

I have a HUGE dehydrator from the 1950's but I thought something more modern might be better to try.
This has more capacity than one of those round ones...I love the number of shelves. It also doesn't take up too much space on the counter. Still being used to a dehydrator that is 2' x 2'...I could still use more room.

I like to dehydrate onions and tomatoes and various harvests from the garden to store and this works pretty well, as long as you slice things thin enough because there isn't much room between racks if you want to use them all. I prefer the square shape though and find I can get a good amount in each load so it's pretty efficient. I haven't made jerky with it but for my purposes it has been dehydrating my veggies well. Instructions are a bit sketchy but if you are familar with dehyrdating and look up some charts online you won't have any problems. It's not the highest end machine, and it feels kinda like and cheap, but it does work for light to moderate use.

I have dehydrated fruits and herbs for years, but was always nervous to try jerky because the plastic round dehydrators are not as good at maintaining the temperature in my opinion.
Day one of having this in our house and we've made jerky and love it!
First, let me say how impressed I was at how quiet this is. I have to keep my round dehydrator in the pantry or another room because it is so loud. This is more of a whisper. Because of that I was skeptical, but sure enough, it keeps the temperature steady beautifully.
Ok, there are a few quirks. The temperature is changed in increments, and they are funny numbers: you don't select 165 degrees, it is 167 lol. That said, for a machine that works and maintains the desired temperature, I'm ok with it.
The other quirk I've got is that the metal bottom in the front inside for my unit is a bit bent down, so I'll have to be careful if there are any drips to make sure it does not drip into that gap.
I do wish the unit came with more nonstick liners and more fruit leather trays. The trays are handy for dehydrating liquids, which I want to do . I am going to test using some of the grill mats for liquids, and the grill mesh for nonstick.
