the air does not suck out with my hand pump. I tried another brand that I had been using and the air came out no problem. Is Vicarko brand finicky?

Answer: definitely finicky....I have a hand pump and find I have to reposition the pump

Answer: It might be. The first time I used the bags my hand pump worked perfectly and all the air was removed. The second time I used them, I couldn’t get the air to come out at all. Not sure what the issue was.

Answer: I use the Ziploc hand pump. It takes 10-12 pumps before the seal opens and the air can be pumped out. I have also used a Vac-u-Vin hand pump. It takes the same “prepumping” that the other hand pump does.

Answer: We have traveled with these bags in a cooler without any leaks. To pull a vacuum on these bags, the bags are not completely full so there is not a lot of pressure on the seal from the contents of the bag.

my pump worked great until I sucked up some meet juice, I washed out only the end of it and now it dose not work.. can I fix it?

Answer: Did you take off the clear plastic part and the white rubber tip? They come apart with a little twist. Wash with dish soap and let dry completely. Do not submerge the blue vacuum part but you can rinse it quickly under the tap and brush gently with an old toothbrush if necessary. I've had to do this a number of times and it still works fine. Oh, and make sure it is fully charged once you get it clean.

Want to take it on my family trip?

Answer: I often take it with me to travel, there will be many snacks to vacuumed on the way, it helps me a lot.

Does the air come back in the bags after a few days?

Answer: If you have a great done, the answer is no. This sealer did have the strong enough suction to take all the air out. I’ve been using it now for about a couple of weeks and never had a problem with air coming back in.

Should I be able to remove air by applying pressure to a sealed bag? I cannot. I tried a ziploc pump and a house vac but no suction.

Stonedigger : Pump great but buy a roll of packing tape for bags

Pump is great. Easy to use and powerful.

Bags not so great. Great idea but at least half the time the little valve fails to hold vacuum. I also found the many times it was hard to get bag to work in the first place. It often took several tries before my pump could start sucking the air out. Even if one worked at first rarely would it hold vacuum on reuse. I had a roll of heavy duty packing tape on the counter and thought I'd try a piece to seal the valve after the pump stopped. Worked very well. I cut a piece about 1 1/2 inches long , fold over an edge to make a tag for later removal, and put it on as soon as I move the pump. With this addition I can easily reuse bags. Packing tape (heavy duty) is easier to work with than duct tape and so far is doing the job.

Douglas T Do : It caught on fire...

After using this thing once, I put it inside a shelf in my kitchen.

Since it doesn't hold a charge, I went to recharge it but as soon as I plugged the cable in, an orange light lit up the unit from the inside. That light ended up being a little fire and there was smoke coming out of the thing. I had to dunk it under a faucet to put it out.

The phrase "Buyer beware" applies extra here; don't keep this thing charging while you sleep.

These were supposed to be interchangeable with any vacuumlike sealer. After trying 3 different bags they dont work. Too late to return. Money wasted unfortunately. Love my bag sealer but these bags do not work with it.

D. Anderson : Inexpensive Vacuum Food Sealer That Works

I had been using another brand of hand vacuum sealer bags with their hand pump but the bags are no longer available, or at least I can't find them. I decided to try the VICARKO Vacuum Food Sealer. It works great on both their bags and my other brand bags. I am so glad I purchased this. I would buy it again in a heart beat! I do place my food in a resealable quart or sandwich bag first, and thus I can get multiple uses of the vacuum sealer bag.

Val : Defective after one use, no warranty

After just one use (sealing 3 small bags) the “charging status light” stays always on, making the product unsafe to use (I guess there is a shortcut somewhere inside). I had the pump for a little more that a month, but there is no warranty on the product, so it’s a waste of money.

PondKeeper : The price the quality and quantity is great with limitations.

These bags are the visual equivalent of those sold by the major company that does vacuum sealing. Except even if sealed properly they simply don't hold for more than a month. You get at least three or four times as many as you get for half the price plus you got a small hand-held pump which would be great camping. , we purchase the rechargable food sealer handheld for under $30 because after doing 12 bags of pre prepped meals. BUT IF 2 TO 4 WEEKS IS GOOD FOR YOU BUY THEM
They are reusable. Just not long-term freezer storage

This works great but forget what you read about the bags being reusable. If you want to know what reusable means, grab a 1 quart freezer bag and try washing it. Ridiculous.

I love my sous vide machine and being able to use these vacuum seal bags is so much easier than cutting and making my own with my vacuum sealer. They are a really good quality, good zipper and easy to get the air out with the attachment that came with my vacuum sealer. These are also great for storing/freezing leftovers and they last longer once vacuum sealed.

This works well enough, especially for removing air from bags that are mostly flat (i.e. containing, sauces, soups, flat cakes). I use this device, and then get a perfect air removal job with the water bath method: After sucking the air out of the bag with this device, leave a tiny corner of the bag unzipped, submerge the sous vide bag (zip lock bag) slowly under water. As you push the bag deeper the water pressure pushes the air out of the bag. When you've submerged the bag completely (except for the unzipped corner), seal the unzipped corner of the bag and remove the bag from the water bath. You should have a "vacuum packed" looking sealed bag. The suction device + the water bath method make a perfect seal, as good as that of a FOODSAVER machine - and much easier and less expensive.

billsa : Good, but missing one important item

It works but doesn't come with any instructions. None. I had to go online and watch Japanese language "how-to" videos to see why it wouldn't work. The key is the adapter doesn't seem to work with the bags included. In fact, the device works without it. I have no idea why it is in there....because there are no instructions.
When we finally found the answer on line, we are satisfied. It does work and recharges pretty quickly. So four stars out of five.

subrock : Superior to the Foodsaver bags, with a slight learning curve

In my opinion, these bags are superior to the foodsaver zip lock bags in construction. Closing the bag completely is easy, and the zipper portion of the bag is high quality, no hunting for the grooves to lock the bag. I haven't had to use the included tool to zip up these bags at all. The valve works well, but if you're used to the foodsaver bags there is slight learning curve.

The small flap of plastic that's punched into the valve isn't completely cut out, so your vacuum attachment of choice needs to break it before it starts removing all air from the bag. So, for my foodsaver attachment, the unit will rev up like the bag is devoid of air, and after a second or two it breaks that flap in the seal and works normally.

Amazon Customer : Piece of junk!

Unless you want to keep replacing the vacuum pump, don't buy this set. The first pump stopped working within the 30 day return window, so I got a replacement. Now the second pump stopped working and I'm a couple of weeks outside of the return time. The bags also loose air, so they're worthless half the time. Even though this item is inexpensive, it's not worth it.

I had looked gard to find bags for CUISINART HANDHELD RECHARGEABLE VSC SE LET BAGS.
THESE WorK just fine with the handheld unit. Tried all three sizes bags... .No troubles. IF TROUBLE RE-ALIGN NOZZLE AND TRY AGAIN. These take a few seconds extra to pop the center of blue dot seal before removing air. ????????

I bought these Vicarko Vacuum Bags because the brand-name bags held their seal only about half the time, making them little more than expensive Ziplocks. These do much better; I haven’t had a seal fail yet. These bags are plenty sturdy - I find it easy to wash them and re-use them. They're *slightly* harder to use with the vacuum pump, but that may simply be that they're a little different in design, and I'm just getting used to them. They are by no means hard to use, just a tiny bit more finicky, maybe. I like these better than the brand-names.

After years using regular Vacuum Machine throw away bags and the cost - I was very pleased to find this new style. I love them !! Best part is that they are easy and though to clean, then reuse. Save money !! They also freeze well. You can use the machine canister attachment or one of the cheap [or included] hand vac's.

These vacuum seal bags are much like Food Saver bags. They are some harder to pull a vacuum on than the name brand bags. It requires a little finesse to get bags to work pressing to hard or to lighly will not complete a good seal. Once tbe seal is established they work well evacuatuating the air.

I have wasted sooooo much $ I don’t have on big vacuum sealer machines and always had to return them but this product is the BEST EVER & I highly recommend it to save $ and keep food a veryyyyy long time so nothing is wasted and I need that since I don’t have an income and my youngest son is veryyy disabled and sickly so I need every penny for him and all his necessities to survive daily in his life!!!!! The gallon size bags take a while to suction but just pick machine up and place down harder on a flat surface and it works great!!!! My favorite is the quart size bags and they never unseal in my fridge, freezer, or cabinet!!!!

I used these bags to freeze huckleberries. The vacuum pack works great as the bags take up less room in the freezer. I have used the quart Ziploc bags that go with the little vacuum sealer I have but couldn’t find the quart sized ones to order. These are very different and looked twice as big when I pulled them out. But they are made to be flatter so I finally figured that out. They will do the job!

I wanted to get more bags for sous vide without having to use my food sealer or purchase another $25+ set that comes with a pump. We already a couple of pumps and just wanted bags. This set of bags is the solution to what we wanted! The item comes delivered in a vacuum sealed bag that includes 30 bags and 2 sealing closure sliding clips. The air port hole is compatible with both our manual pull push pump or our usb rechargeable vacuum. These have the handy white square block that allows me to write using crayon grease pen. I am pleased with this set as the price per bag is the lowest I can find on amazon.

Works great. Love that it keeps my food fresh and works with other bags. It does not hold a seal on powered items like flour or powdered stevia. It sucks the fine particles into the suction sealer and then it looses air. It works great on everything else. It’s my favorite kitchen product.

I use these bags for sous vide and they vacuum really well. Also when I make my grocery shopping, I chop up the veggies, vacuum and put them per portion into the fridge. I love freshly cooked meals, and the preparation of ingredients beforehand makes it really quick and it is easy to make a fresh, veggie loaded dinner when I get home.
Last week I found a bag of sliced carrots and zucchini in the fridge after two weeks, the vacuum has losen up some, but the veggies were still perfect, in a minestrone they went, it was ready in half an hour. Also, as they can be used more times, you do good for the environment. Usual sous vide vacuum bags are thrown away after use.

Overall it is ok, not the best quality. One of the small bags was broken so that I can not vacuum. Disappointing! How can I return it when I have used a lot of bags until I found the one with a hole? I may look for another better brand next purchase.

Once the air is removed, these bags stay tightly sealed and air out. These are the only bags that keep food fresh. The bags are heavy and well designed. This is the only brand I will buy.

The suction unit, the part enabling the removal of air from the bags, would automatically shut off every 5 - 7 seconds, regardless of how much air was left in the bag. This product was a piece of junk and incredibly aggravating. Each time I'd get it to start removing air again, it'd shut off. Previously, I had a manual one from Ziplock - would love to see that back on the market.

I buy meat in bulk/family packages, then divide them into smaller bags for the freezer. I was surprised the bags were larger than any of the others I've been using. But that's fine. gives me space for any larger pieces. The bags are heavy, strong and should last me a long time.

I purchased this product July 2020. At first the only complication was closing the bags and using the vacuum. The seal zipper takes some getting used to since it doesn't aline well. As for the vacuum, the suction was poor to begin with and would stop before done because it sucked the other side.
Now the zipper seal on the bags are falling apart. To be fair, the Q&A mentioned that the bags have about 5 uses each. I'd say at least 3 uses from each bag and would say they are about as reusable as freezer ziplock bags. As for the pump it has now stopped charging and will not work. I plug it in, it turns red, after a while it changes to green, I press the button and it changes back to red; no function or noise.
Overall, product is cheap and good to help you figure out if vacuum sealing is for your home. I suggest the company betters their product or the customer look for an alternative for a permanent home vacuum seal.

First off, I'll say that the bags appear go be larger than advertised -- I'm estimating that they're roughly 50% larger than the quart bags from other brands that I've tried. That's not a complaint -- I can fit more in each bag, with no downsides that I can see.
Two things set these bags apart from the others I've tried:
1. It seems to be easier to get the zipper seal fully sealed!
2. Getting proper contact between the bag's valve and the hand vacuum device is also easier -- not so finicky.

I just got this in the mail today, but after charging for a bit I was able to vacuum seal several bags of freshly dehydrated veggies. It took me a little wiggling the device around at times, to get the right spot for suction, but that might just be because I haven't looked at the directions, yet. For the price, I'm happy with it. I have a food saver that takes up you much counter space, so I usually keep it in a cabinet and avoid using it. I hope this makes it easy to store foods and have less waste.
