Do I need to wait until the drying is over to turn off the machine?

Answer: No. The LED control panel can set the time, and it will automatically stop working after the drying is completed.

What are the shelves made of? looks like plastic?

Answer: The shelves are made of plastic, but BPA-free, and the machine works very good for me, I thought they would include a tray cover for making leathers but then I don't made leathers anyway.

Will the air pressure inside the dehydrator become very high?

Its the water always in a heated mode. May i use as an ice bath too?

Answer: You could control the temperature to make you satisfied.

Does this include a receipe book?

Answer: Yes, there is a recipe book included with the dehydrator. My kids favorite is now homemade strawberry fruit rolls, though I myself am rather partial to the homemade jerky. You can use it with meats, fruits, vegetables, herbs. It is so unbelievably fresh!

Is it heavy or convenient to carry?

Answer: It is pretty light. You can grip it by the side of the basin pretty easily. I would recommend only filling it to the line and no more, but you will need to be able to life the 1-2 gallons of water you put into it to dump it, so take that in consideration if older or in-firmed. Unit itself is light and easy to carry prior to water being init.

Is the heat enough to dry the fruits on the upper layers?

Answer: Yes most definitely. You can actually set the temperature and the heat/air flow is evenly distributed throughout the unit and upwards.
