This glider came very well packaged. And the last thing you want is that they get destroyed whilst on the way to you.

With 3 boys at home you want them to burn their energy as much as they can. This does exactly that.

Very simply made - the bottom circle part is heavier than the rest of the item, it is made of silicone like material. The rest is just the light weight paper and glued fabric on top.

Quite pleasant to touch and play with. It does glide a very long distance.

It is easy to use even my phone road manages to throw it very well.

Wilde's Cabbage : The Ball-less Sports Equivalent

From the makers of the hugely popular Moon Ball ...certainly at our son's school, this new Airlyft is also quite unique.

Its super aerodynamic - a perfect shape for flight. Even in the slightest wind, it can travel a good distance. It's very light, made of squash stiff nylon, with a lightweight silicone ring to one end.

It can be thrown, flung, heaved, launched and lobbed a number of ways, by the tail end or even by the 'o' ring. Always behaving differently depending on how you propel it.

We've been taking it on our country walks, it comes into it's own in a vast open space. The bright colours helps it get noticed in the young maize fields, but adds an extra challenge for the kids to forage for it when it inadvertently changes directions in the light wind.

The kids equally love pitching it at each other from one side of the hall to the other whilst indoors in the most obscure ways - to make it all the more difficult to catch. In the absence of indoor squash club due to Covid, it offers a ball-less equivalent.

When I saw this I did wonder if it would work, as it’s such a different design, but I’m pleased to report it does! It couldn’t be more straight-forward really to use, just throw any way you like and see what happens in flight! Great for kids and adults alike. Can’t wait to use it on the beach in our upcoming staycation. Good value straight-forward family fun, and you get exercise too in the process!

Clb1066 : Long distance outdoor glider toy -- recommended!

Waboba's Airlyft is a new, or at least new to me, outdoor glider toy for ages 6+. It is available in several designs -- mine is a black and white 'tribal' print with a green ring; it is made of nylon fabric and a TPE ring.

This toy is said to glide over 30 metres, but our garden is considerably shorter than 30 metres so I will have to take the manufacturer's word for this.

It's a revolutionary design with a hollow shape that's engineered for maximum lift as air passes through the tunnel.

It's pretty easy for anyone to throw it high or far in a variety of ways e.g. overhand or underhand throw. And you can choose to throw it by the ring or the tail. It is hours of fun as you work out your throwing technique to get it to fly higher and/or further. It's good for a simple game of catch or for a range of other competitions e.g. who can throw the furthest, the highest etc.

To be fair, it is pretty flimsy looking and arrives in a brown patterned cardboard box with a cardboard tube inside the Airlyft. However, we think that it is probably more robust than it looks, although we plan to insert the cardboard tube and put in the cardboard box when not in use.

We are pleased with this toy and we are happy to recommend -- it's price point of £6 (at time of review) seems reasonable too.

I was a little dubious about how well this would work or if it would be worth it but from the first throw we realised it was actually really cool and fun to play with.

The whole thing is a simple round piece of rubber with a tube of thin fabric on it. All too need to do is throw it. We discovered you can throw it a multitude of ways with different outcomes, but it always travels far and fast and makes trying to catch it really fun.

Just trying it out across out open plan house we lost track of time and ended up throwing it back and forth, in the most extra ways we could think of, for 45 minutes (I would highly recommend only using it outside though as we did knock a few things over in the process), and we can’t wait to meet up with friend and throw it about.

Overall I’m extremely happy with this item, it’s way more fun than I thought it would be and I’d most definitely recommend it.
