DS : Good starter kit - variety and good quality

its a good starter kit. Quality wise its decent - lures are good, and hooks do not need to be replaced :) and sharp. I like the variety too. Will be good for Bass or Pan fish, maybe even trout. All is jammed into a smallish storage container (decent quality).

Is this the highest quality? No. Are they aesthetically pleasing and do they come in fun shapes? Yes. This would be a great set for a kid or a newbie who's just starting to fish and isn't sure what kind of lure they feel comfortable with. I love the variety and I feel like the price is fairly decent for what you get.

This review is for YOESEA 106 PCS Fishing Lure Kit.
I am a keen angler and was immediately interested in adding the contents of this kit to my depleted tackle box. The product arrived on time and as advertised, with a 5-compartment, transparent plastic case packed full of goodies. There are 5 good-looking lures (including poppers and rattlers, all with a pair of treble hooks), a handful of spoons, a variety of plastic worms, grubs and frogs as well as swivel-clasps, hooks and other useful items. Everything appears to be well made and is suitable for my usual kind of canoe-based, small-lake fishing for bass up to 18” in length. The lures are in the 2” to 3” range, and the worms are at most 4” long; so, there is nothing really big here. There is enough variety in this kit for hours of fishing of all types. I consider that the set is good value for money and would make a welcome gift for a young angler or as a starter kit for someone taking up fishing as a pastime.

I recently started fishing with my son and wanted some lures. This set has great various lures with great colors. Everything comes in a case, so it's easy to carry around. The lifelike baits look pretty real. All the lures and baits are good quality. Money well spent! I've caught a few fish with my son using these lures and baits, so it works great.

Fishing is something I have enjoyed since I was a little kid and I have worked with more forms of lures and tackle than I can remember. As a kid I never understood why there were so many different kinds of lures and what drew my attention to any given lure was unrelated to what actually worked. I understand the difference now, and I have a better appreciation for what kinds of lures to use and when, depending on what kinds of fish I am trying to catch. This assortment is a good starter kit for a lot of different types of fishing situations and the lures themselves seem to be decently made.

This assortment has a lot going on. There are worms, grubs, spinners, spoons, poppers and frogs; hooks, line weights and swivels. There are even spare parts like extra plastic spacing beads and spinners. This covers a very wide range of fishing types, from bass and pike to smaller panfish. If you’re looking for a decent starter kit for pursuing various types of freshwater fish using artificial baits, this is a great kit that has a little of almost everything. Fly lures are the one thing that are absent.

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever received in the course of fishing is to always use baits that the fish will recognize as a food source. That is, if all of the school fish are silver-colored fingerlings, the bigger fish will not pursue a blaze-orange minnow or red and white diving bait. Those flashy colors might attract fishermen but not fish. This kit uses mostly natural-looking colors that somewhat match the local bait fish in my area so these work.

Price-wise, these are reasonable.

Looking these over I have not found any cracked bodies, loose connector loops, bent hooks or loops or any other problems that would compromise these. It will take more time to really know how well these will hold up with use, but all indicators so far are that these are made well and will last.

So far I have no complaints with this set of lures. They shy away from bizarre colors, they seem to be made well and the price for the kit is reasonable. This is a fine starter kit for most freshwater situations, fly fishing excepted.

You get a nice assortment of lures and accessories in this pack. Not all the items are useful for the type of fishing I do, but enough are to make it worth the price. The quality isn't top-shelf, and this can be a problem if you are a serious or competitive fisher. For example, some hooks rust or break. This set is suitable for a young angler who is prone to catching 'fish sticks' and loosing lures.

The soft lures are pretty stout. There's a nice variety for about any sized panfish. I usually fish for bass, crappie and bluegill. They put a few tiny soft lures in here too. Those are pretty much useless from my experience, but the rest are pretty nice and there's a nice variety of colors.

Husker4Life1976 : Somewhat pricey for a beginner tackle box

Is this a $24 tackle box? Nope. Is this a good $15 or less tackle box? Absolutely. There is a lot of good lures in here, but I wouldn't say they are for professional anglers. If you are looking for a good beginner fishing set that has everything you need, then sure get it! I would buy this for a kids first camping and fishing trip or for someone who has never gone out. They aren't top of the line, but they will do everything you need them to. You've got a variety of hooks and lures, making it a bit easier to get started. The box is pretty small, so I would add this to a bigger box for easier organization. It's just a bit pricey for the quality you get.

This is nice assortment of lures to add to any tacklebox. They are decent quality...not the best but you aren't paying top prices either. The plastic box they come in helps keep them organized which is nice but usually not necessary if you are adding them to a larger tacklebox. If you are looking for a starter kit for you kids or just to add to your own tacklebox these are worth a try. Overall these are great lures for the money.
