Catch Co. and Triton Mike worked to bring modified versions of his revolutionary swimbaits to the masses without compromising Mike's rigorous quality standards. The Bucca Baby Bull Gill is the newest collaboration between the two brands, a carefully crafted swimbait ready to make waves. The slow sinking, 3.75-inch multi-jointed swimbait weighs ¾ of an ounce and is constructed of ABS plastic compared to Mike's resin poured original. This downsized swimbait is available in 6 tasty color patterns that mimic sunfish, crappie, bluegill, and shad.

The Baby Bull Gill works exceptionally well in places where bigger fish feed on panfish, shad, or small bass. It can be a creek, pond, river, or reservoir - If panfish are on the menu, this is the bait to tie on. Giving a smooth and steady wind allows the bait to swim 2-5 feet below the surface as it sways and ungulates freely, creating an 'S' motion as it swims. If you burn the Bull Gill in using a fast retrieve, the swaying swimming motion tightens up, and the bait rises to the surface. Now you're mimicking a distressed baitfish near the surface. No need for specialized swimbait rods with this downsized gem, the Baby Bull Gill works on medium to medium-heavy casting and spinning rods.

I like everything about this and other lures that Mike Bucca's heart pours into. I wish it had swivels where the hooks attached to the lure body and a magnet to keep the front treble hook up against the lure's belly.

I've only been able to use this lure one time since buying it.I haven't caught anything yet but the water here(33 degrees) is way too cold for this type of lure and this time of the year here.The finish and detail on this lure are amazingly realistic along the swimming action.I purchased this lure to use on bigger Largemouth Bass during the Spring and Summer months in ponds and small lakes where the primary food source is bluegill. I have every reason to believe that this lure is going to catch some big bass for me this year.

This lure catches fish. I fished it this winter when situations were optimal... warmer winter days when bass were feeding and they hammer it. It’s a little heavier then the bull shad so it’s easier to cast. You can get away with a MH, but I prefer a Medium with it. Has great action and the tail is soft so it doesn’t get in the way . Can’t wait for the spring when the blue gills spawn.

If your wondering whether or not this bait is worth the money, just buy it. It runs really well at all speeds. Does a 180 on the pause and twitch and just plain catches. Very few missed hits which is another design plus. Lots of lures get hit after hit with a poor hook up ratio. I really like this one. Plan on buying the whole series of colors.

Just tried it yesterday on my local pond. The lure has a very nice fluid like action. I noticed it sink very slow so if you cast it and start to retrieve it would run almost like a wake bait running right under the service. We will how it will produce in the future.
