ssrrno55 : Great sealing power and vacuum suction
Although i initially had trouble operating I figured out what i was doing wrong and it works fantastically. The suction power and the sealing works great and is fast. I really like that it is petite and can easily be stored when not in use. So far I have only used it for spices and cookies but the seal has stayed strong and it has been a few weeks now, I plan on using this for sous vide cooking as well.

While I had a lot of fun vacuuming various household items, I got this specifically so that I could cook meats sous vide style. I had just ordered my first Sous vide appliance, and felt that I needed a vacuum sealer to get the most out of it. That's really not enough research, but this was my impression when using this sealer, for that purpose, with no previous experience using either one:
It’s great overall. It does a fair-to-good job of extracting the air out of the bag before sealing, and it does an excellent job of ensuring a perfect seal every time so the contents don't leak, thus preventing the water getting into the bags. For this purpose, the first time I turned on the sous vide cooker, all I had to so was toss the sealed bags in, and literally do nothing else. They were perfect and have been perfect every time I've used them. So I really do like this machine and I think it works well.
After using it several times, here are my observations, and what I have learned that I need in the future:
-Setup was mostly smooth, but it's not fool-proof (as I turned out to be the fool). It took me way too long to learn that you have to push the device down until it "snaps". The directions never say to push until it snaps, and I was afraid to exert too much pressure on a brand new unit. That is minor of course, and was only a problem the once.
-The bags are small, and because of the width of the machine, I don't think they can be wider than 8 inches. The bags they cone with are just about that wide in total, but the useable space is less than 7 inches wide. This is perfectly fine for single servings of steak, chicken, or any of those types of proteins, but not suitable for larger or multiple pieces.
-The suction is fine, but it doesn’t produce a completely air-free package. I assume this is normal and expected, but when I saw what appears to be tiny pockets of air the first few times, I was a little unsure. I have noticed absolutely no negative side effects, so this is might be a cosmetic thing only.
-I make a mess when I use these after soaking meat in a marinade. Inevitably the sauce that I use for wet-marinades spills a little out of the tops of the bags when I fill them. The device itself is not the easiest to clean around the suction part. It’s not terrible, but it’s just messier and a bit more time-consuming to wipe off all the residue than I would prefer it to be.
And lastly – here’s my guilt using this machine overall: I feel like I'm being an eco-terrorist who goes around wasting single-serve plastic when I prepare dinner for my family of 5, because there are so many excess bags laying around. If the bags were a little bit wider/longer I feel I could fit two large chicken breasts in each bag, and maybe that's possible with third party bags, but using them like this to cook dinner is starting to make me feel like I'm creating more waste that I should/is necessary.
Overall, the operation is nearly-perfect, and the size is ultra-compact (the bags take up more space than the appliance). I think it’s a great solution for a variety of storage options, but my primary use is 100% for sous vide cooking!

As a single guy, I really dislike when I end up leaving food and it goes bad.
