My suggestion is to leave the herbs on the stems because small loose leaves might blow around inside the unit as the fan is fairly strong.
Q:

Answer: stainless steel Trays don't bend proble will last for ever easy to clean.
Q:
I'm not an "extreme prepper"—I've kids & a spouse to protect if "bad stuff"occurs. Could this help me make longer-lasting food "provisions"? Thank you
Answer: I absolutely believe it would. Although this came with no recipe book, I googled recipes and in most cases has to adjust the time down. I did meats of course, but also strawberries. The key is if it is to remain at room temperature that you make sure it is dry. The meats I vacuumed packed to keep longer, and some were in zip lock bags and in the refrigerator. This also has a small footprint so fits on the counter. It is also easy to clean.
Q:
Does it dry evenly, or is rotation necessary?
Answer: It dries very evenly and haven't had to rotate anything, though if you have a lot of different sizes and levels of ripeness, it helps to check towards the end and remove the fruit that's done as you go. We use this a lot because we have a lot of different fruit trees, and you can only make so much jam and jellies - though we also end up freezing a lot of fruit in addition to giving a lot away and eating it and feeding the not so perfect fruit to the wildlife. The VERESIX food dehydrator is one of the best investments we made this year to handle the situation where you have more fruit than you know what to do with.
Q:
Does this make fruit crunchy like freeze dried fruit?
Answer: No, it is a dehydrater not a freeze dryer. The only fruit I have dried so far is oranges. It definitely takes the moisture out, and the dried fruit is delicious. The rind of the orange was crunchy
Q:
Is the machine made of stainless steel or only the trays?
Answer: inside & Trays are stainless steel, it’s made of food grade stainless steel. an attractive machine and the trays are easy to clean.I love and highly recommend this product.
Q:
Came with 4 mesh trays, but only one tray for drying fruit, and it states it comes with 2 anti-stick mats. Where is the second one?
Answer: Mine didn't come with anti stick mats at all
Q:
What grade and thickness is the stainless steel?
Answer: Not sure what grade of steel it is. All I can say is that it does not get hot on the outside . I have my dehydrator in use most days. It does a great job.
Q:
Do I need oxygen absorbers if I want to make dehydrated meals and use them the same week for backpacking?
Answer: Really depend what you are dehydrating and how. dry you dehydrated it for. i have dehydrated squash, pork, and beef from 6hrs -12 hrs and they can last for over a week without packaging the oxygen absorber pack in there
Q:

Answer: You could try using one of the solid plastic trays.Yes you can dehydrate frozen fruit in the dehydrator.

Q:

Answer: I’m in NY we use 110 watts. I used couple times already. Every time I used for 7 hours or more. This is average time to get fruit dry. Doesn’t see any problem.
Answer: 350W
Answer: The Instruction Manual shows 350W
Q:
Does this work in the range of 100 to 240Volts or only 110v? i'm taking it over seas.
Answer: It is only good with 100V, 60 cycle AC.
Q:
How much spacing beyween the trays? Otherwise how thick can something be without being squished by the tray above?
Answer: The bottom 3 shelves are about 1 1/2 inches apart. The top shelf about 2 1/2 inches to top of machine. This is a wonderful dehydrator. I don't know why you would want one with the shelves farther apart. If you put big chunks of food in, it will take you a LONG time to dehydrate, and maybe you won't get the food dehydrated at all. This is meant for thin slices of food, not large chunks.
Answer: 1 inch unless you remove a tray
Q:
Does it come with a recipe book?
Answer: no..i had to figure it out by trial and error

Q:
Where can I find trays that can be used for making fruit leathers?
Answer: This comes with 2 trays. Also bought extra mesh inserts for the metal trays. Not sure how they work, haven't used them yet.
Q:
Does this dehydrator make a lot of noise or runs quiet?
Answer: The unit is very very quite. You barely hear fan noise
Answer: It’s really quiet while it runs but I’ll admit when the timer goes off it’s pretty annoying haha
Answer: It is very quiet! Can barely hear it.
Q:
what is the overall size of dehydrator?
Answer: It’s smaller then you would think but you can fit a decent amount of things in it. I mainly do beef jerky. It holds almost 2 pounds of meat.
Q:
What is the average time for dehydration to take full effect?
Answer: Depends on what you are dehydrating. Jerky takes 6 hours at 158, tomatoes i did for 10 hrs at 135, zucchini chips 12 at 140
Q:
what is the temperature range on this? can it go below 95 degrees to be set to 85 degrees if needed?
Answer: 95 degrees to 158
Q:
Is it BPA free
Answer: It is all metal.
Q:
Is the entire unit metal, I see the interior and trays are metal but what out the outside of the unit is that metal also?
Answer: Outside is hard plastic. Also, the catch tray on the bottom is plastic.
Q:
Is the fan rear mounted?
Answer: Yes, the fan is at the rear of this food dehydrator.
Q:
Does it come with a recipe booklet?
Answer: No
Q:
Turn timer alert off
Answer: yes

Does anyone make camping packs with dehydrated food?

Product reviews of Food Dehydrator Machine - Digital Adjustable Timer and Temperature Control Dryer Dehydrators for Food and Jerky, Herbs, Meat, Fruit, Veggies, with 4 Stainless Steel Trays and 2 Anti-stick Mat
Denise M Klein : Great little deydrator!!
I bought this to dry herbs from my garden and eventually do jerky. I love this little machine. Very quiet, very easy to use. If you are wanting to do a big job, this would not be the dehydrator for you but definitely has been great. I would recommend it for sure.
WAS : Small, but works very well for cookies!
I bought this to use with my royal icing cookies and it works perfectly! It sets my icing in about 10 mins and saves me so much time. It has all the features I wanted; fan in the back, stainless steel trays, and a door that doesn't come all the way off. It is on the smaller side, but I wanted something small so that I can put away and take out easily. I also rotate my cookies that are in there so size is not an issue. I do wish the timer could be set to less than an hour, but it's not a deal breaker. For the quality and price, this was worth it.
Gocker V. : Small, efficient and easy to clean
This is just the perfect size . It does not take up much room. I processed 2 pounds of beef to make beef jerky in one batch and 3 baby banana bunches to make 1 batch of dried banana. Noise level is low. Extremely easy to clean.
Beverly Farina : Fantastic little dehydrator
I love this little dehydrator. It is pretty, takes up very little space, is quiet, easy to clean, controls are easy to use, dries very evenly, and actually just perfect for me. If you have a large family and need a lot of food, buy a larger one, but for one person with limited counter or storage space it is perfect. These little ones are practically impossible to find. Don't look any further, buy this one!

Jagisette : Excellent for beef jerky and fruit drying
I bought this dehydrator for my husband as a Father’s Day present. He loves it!!! He has used it for fruit and for making beef jerky, which he likes very much. The temperature control and timer works well and aesthetically it looks great. It’s also very compact which is good for us. Great product and good quality.
Embellish Trio : To small
This is a very tiny item for the price; more like the size of an easy bake oven????????♀️ Very disappointed! No stars from me it makes you give a star to submit
Katherine A. Brunner : Good functionality, easy to use, and fast clean-up
I bought this unit because it had a digital temperature and time shut off feature, had a small footprint, and had 4 stainless steel trays. I am using it for dehydrating fruits and jerky. It works great, and am very happy with my purchase.
Alice Ceballos : Smaller Then Expected
This is great for making jerky and dried fruit but it is a lot smaller then I expected. it is the size for a single person or maybe up to a 3 household family but way too small for my bunch of 10. I like it and it works great just don't have the time or energy to do multiple batches so there is enough for everyone . It is easy to clean, easy to use and made really well. You can even use it for crafts for making your own poperti and such as well.
Abbey : Perfect starter dehydrator
So far we have been happy with our results. The food dehydrator is very easy to use and runs quietly. You can open the door during the process to check your food and it resumes as soon as the door is closed. It’s not as big as I was expecting but I am very happy overall.
Mexiguns : Pleasantly surprised
Great machine in a small size it’s great for a small family to make jerky and treats for my pets instated making jerky for the family and hopefully for friends. I’m going to try to make some fruit roll ups . Next I will try to make some dried fruit and see how it comes out. I will make dog treats for our dog and maybe some for the local dogs in my neighborhood.
Lisa J. Sneed : Small but mighty
I ordered this dehydrator to dry gumpaste decorations that weren't flat, ie. bows, flowers, figurines, etc. The dehydrator is so very quiet and does a great job. It is a wonderful addition to the bakery.
M. Heath : Great for small jobs.
This was great for drying some fruit. It is smaller which I liked but I included a picture with a wine bottle for reference. It will also fit nicely in my pantry between uses. Worked well, quiet. Next I will try with my basil!
TX777 : Lil Powerhouse
Light, cute powerhouse- so far I have dehydrated lemons, oranges, and limes. Just put the fruit in and .... forget it about it- there’s a timer. I did check in - this may help you to adjust the time. I also sliced everything thin and as consistent as possible- this helps.
Superchemist cook : Very easy to use, and surprisingly easy to clean.
My wife bought this specifically to make chicken jerky for our large dog. The dehydrator is very easy to use, with knobs to set temperature and time. Jerky can be made either chewy or crispy. She's been making a batch a week, and right now we're making beef jerky for our son. Simply spraying the 4 racks with vegetable oil makes them very easy to clean.
SB : Absolutely great little dehydrator!
Great little dehydrator! Temp control is great, racks are sturdy and easy to clean and there's virtually no noise! I've dehydrated chicken hearts and gizzards for my pups for 2 days and it's wonderful and my pups love them! So healthy, low calorie and delicious! First I did only 2 trays and it took about 6 hours, second batch I used all 4 trays and it was about 8 hours to dry about 1 -1 /2 lbs. It's small and compact and I don't have a lot of counter space so it's perfect for me. The racks don't stick and are easy to clean so clean up is quick! I'll be using this all the time since I have a dog treat business and I just love this little dehydrator! Next I'm going to do some fruits for myself and my pups, so excited to keep these healthy treats coming! Get one, you will absolutely love it!

sherry rufo : Great little dehydrator
This is my first dehydrator and I like that its easy to clean with stainless steel shelf and not plastic. It does come with a plastic tray. The size is perfect for my needs. I was able to dehydrate 3 big lemons at a time. It is small so if you’re looking for drying big batches this will not work for you. It is perfect for small spaces. It is a no nonsense gadget and so far I am happy with it.
Chester Alan Kreter : Great “little” dehydrator
I bought this dehydrator because it is small and it is quiet. I have now owned it several months and I’m really satisfied with ability to adjust temperature and timer. Highly recommend this item if space is a concern.
Jamie B. : Compact in size
Compact in size fits on my countertop with out the clutter look also fits inside a cabinet after use I will be using this to go with a raw food diet so I will be using frequently most dehydrators are large and take up space

Ash Jones : One of my best purchases of 2021!
Came Saturday. Cleaned it out and used it Sunday. Been using it almost non stop since. Making powders seeing what I can make. Made a consommé, green & red onion, kimchi, pepperoncini. Right now just finished some mixed berries. So far everything has come out great. When I get the opportunity I'm gonna try jerky.
Alexander G. : Reliable and a pleasure to use!
This little thing is pretty great for the price! It dries everything I've put in it perfectly while looking a hell of a lot better than other dehydrators on the market for around the same price. It's notification is pretty loud but you can either live with it or just find the circuit like I did, I wouldn't mess with it alot though its plastic build probably isn't the strongest. Comes with some trays, they are fine for what they are but I wouldn't beat on em. Oh, I also like that I can dry things that are taller than half an inch unlike the stacking dehydrators. So if you are looking for a dehydrator that's easy to use, and doesn't look like shit next to your other appliances look no further.
Mary E : Perfect space saving food dehydrator.
The temperature control can only be adjusted in increments of 9, have to kind of guess a little but I love that I can watch the process. My banana chips were more chewy than I expected but I tried a method that I should not have. I wish there was a recipe book but all in all the small size is perfect for my husband and I. Buying dehydrated fruit is just too costly, this will more than serve it’s purpose.
Abbey : Perfect starter dehydrator

Natalie : So far so good!
I have only used this once and it worked well so far. It is very quiet. The only down side is it wouldn’t let me adjust to a specific temperature and only allowed increments.
... : Great Dehydrator!
This little machine is perfect for drying anything! It’s not too loud, small, and easy to use. I love that it comes with metal trays and liners. Other dehydrators I’ve used, the plastic trays have all warped and melted. Can’t say enough about this and def worth the purchase!
Emiliee : Great for the price!
We really wanted a good starter dehydrator. This is a great one, especially for the price! Once it came in we thought it was maybe too small for what we wanted. We tested it out first with some beef jerky. It surprisingly held a lot of meat! It held about 1.5lb of steak, that was perfect for just the two of us. I was shocked on how quite it was and how quickly our house started to smell like yummy jerky. Since it is a smaller dehydrator it is a very quick and easy clean! Very happy so far, over all with the product.
Tim Benson : Quality Kitchen Dehydrator
Easy to use quality food dehydrator.
Pros: 1. Works well quickly 2. Quality metal trays, and comes with 2 non-stick solid trays for herbs and smalls 3. Simple digital display and control knobs are easy to utilize 5. Very easy to clean 4. Practical shape and size for Kitchen or home
Mids: 1. Louder than expected but not as loud as some other dehydrators of a similar size
Cons: 1. Limited drying space, about half the capacity as other dehydrators in the price range 2. Not suitable for commercial use or big game hunters
This is a perfect dehydrator for casual home use. Naturally, if you want to dry elephants and orchards you'll need to spend a few hundred on a thrifty commercial dehydrator.
Don't look any further, buy this one!
colette : To small , don’t heat up
The unit don’t get up to temp food still wet after 24 hours .. and it was just sliced oranges
Michael Pflueger : Functionality is excellent but timer is annoying
It's good, but wish there was a way to control the volume. When the time is up the beeping is way too loud and goes on for too long.
H. Capps : I love This Little Dehydrator
This is a wonderful product for saving money on my food bill regarding seasonal fresh food aside from freezing it! Also, great to use for the prepper in case of a storm, power outage, or other unforeseen tragic events that can take place. Love how it keeps the food dry for two months at a time, I'm getting lots of meat to dry so I can can it and store it away for supply line food truck failures that are coming in the fall of 2021. Stock up people, but this little device I'm very pleased with. I highly recommend!

Unknown : Perfect size
I love this little dehydrator. In fact it was the small size that intrigued me. That was the only complaint I found. I make carrots for my chinchillas. It was a great investment that has saved me money. I've been using it for quite a few months now, and I have had zero issues.
Jasmine Yang : Great tool for family
This food dehydrator is a great tool to me. I don’t have to worry about my fruit turn bad any more. Great size to my kitchen and very easy to be use and clean. Turn my fruit to health dried fruit and also keep the yummy taste at all
Deshanna : I like it
It’s small and just the right size for me. I like using it to make my snacks for the next day.
Eorlund : Best general use Dehydrator, very compact, EASY cleaning and use
Really glad I got this one while it was on sale. I have a working one already, but it was so enormous and such a brat to clean, and its tray inserts broke easily. Anytime I was done with it, it was a major time consuming thing to clean it up and put it out of the kitchen. I wanted a smaller dehydrator I could keep on the counter, bc I dehydrate a lot of stuff often but still wanted room to do other stuff in the kitchen with my already limited counterspace in a small kitchen. This little guy is amazing! Perfect size, so small and lightweight, that I got a countertop shelf thingy it sits on so I can store other stuff under it! (and it still fits under my kitchen cabinets above it) It's easy to clean, and it's stainless steel mesh trays are such a step up from those clunky plastic ones and easier to clean without snapping! It's also a closed space, and when you sometimes have the lil bug infestation here and there, it saves your food and the dehydrator from them even when not in use. My only qualm is that its timer and heating is far more limited than even the cheap ones making me have to adjust all my degrees and timing in my recipes, but that's not a big deal. Though I much preferred just letting it go overnight while I got a full night's sleep. It doesn't last a full night, so you have to plan it as a day use like a crockpot, and if it's not enough be there to add more time to it. If you're looking for a dehydrator, I highly recommend this one, even as a beginner. Don't bother with those plastic ones, they're infuriating even with the first use. I'm a single person, and there was plenty of room in it for a 2 person family of food. Maybe 2 adults and a small kid, or "disinterested teen that still sometimes snacks on the dehydrated stuff just because it's there", but not really big enough for food quantities more than 2 and a half people. If you live in one of those housevans and are thinking of getting a dehydrator, this is the one for you bc of it's compact size and shelvability in a tight space.
I've already made sticky jellies, meat for cat & dog snacks, general food storage, seasoned fruit snacks, etc. and it's all been so much easier to clean up than plastic. And a simple wiping of the interior, with it being white you can see if there still anything left behind. VERY nice. Thumbs up.
Chester Alan Kreter : Great “little” dehydrator
I bought this dehydrator because it is small and it is quiet. I have now owned it several months and I’m really satisfied with ability to adjust temperature and timer. Highly recommend this item if space is a concern.
Emily Funke : it's not the size of the dehydrater, it's how you use it!
The machine is decently quiet. The unit is small so it hides nicely on a counter. Only thing I do not like is how loud the beeps are when setting the temperature and duration. The racks fit snugly and they clean up well. Overall, this is a great little unit for the cost since other machines tend to be much larger and are an eyesore on your kitchen counter.
Ricky Goff : Great Product!
I love it! Easy to use. Set the timer and forget about it. I made some awesome beef jerky with it!
Jamie B. : Compact in size
Compact in size fits on my countertop with out the clutter look also fits inside a cabinet after use I will be using this to go with a raw food diet so I will be using frequently most dehydrators are large and take up space
Carly Goebel : Compact and powerful
We love our new dehydrator!! It is easy to operate and the shelves fit a surprising amount of items for dehydrating. Plus the design is so sleek that it fits right in with the other appliances! I like that I can use small silicone mats for making small batches of fruit leathers.
Gene S : Very happy with the purchase.
So far so good. I used it to make beef jerky, dried tuna, dried tomatoes and dried oranges. Worked really well.
Keep in mind it's rather small. It fits about 3 pounds of raw tomatoes, two pounds of beef or tuna.
phoebe wong : Work great
I love this product. The dehydrator is lightweight 、compact but powerful. When I used it for orange slices for the first time, I set it to stand at 149 F for 8 hours, then went to bed and woke up in the morning to get the expect and perfect dried fruit . I especially like it’s stainless steel shelf, which is more meet my selection criteria .I like this machine and will use it to make jerky for my pet.
Martin Vargas : Amazing!!
This product is truly amazing! At first I was a little skeptical because it is so small, but I quickly realized that it actually fits quite a bit of food in it and it’s more than enough! It’s very easy to set the temp and the time. It also automatically shuts off when the timer ends! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking!
Rosana perez : Satisfied customer
Product is as described in description, fits anywhere, very quiet, digital settings & I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Also purchased the extended warranty which i recommend.
Simply spraying the 4 racks with vegetable oil makes them very easy to clean.
colette : To small , don’t heat up
The unit don’t get up to temp food still wet after 24 hours .. and it was just sliced oranges
