Questions about Frabill Conservation Series Landing Net with Camlock Reinforced Handle, 20 X 23-Inch, Premium Landing Net, Multi (9510)
Q:
How long of a fish will this size handle?
Answer: My guess would be 30". I've netted largemouth bass up to 25" with no problems.
Answer: I am a bass fisherman have been for 50 yrs and all I can say there has never been a black bass that will not fit in this net.
Answer: 20 inch
Q:
Do these nets float?
Answer: No it doesn’t float. I actually used zip ties to attach a piece of a pool noodle on each side of the hoop so it now floats.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does it float?
Q:
What material is the handle made of?
Answer: The handle is aluminum with a semi soft rubber cover where you grip. Well made.
Answer: Aluminium, looked to be well made, but was larger than expected for use on a kayak and does not float. I sent back and got a brand that floats
Answer: I believe it is aluminum
Answer: I believe it is aluminum.
Answer: Aluminum
Q:
Am i doing something wrong? The handle only goes halfway into the net area for storage due to the black bands on the handle. Half of the handle is
Answer: No u are not doing anything wrong that is the way it is designed. I fish out of a Ranger Bass Boat with the net laid in the floor and have never found it to be a big problem. good luck its a great net.
Answer: That's it. That's as far as it goes. I was disappointed to but otherwise I love the net.
Q:
Is it 1" mesh and 3/8 at the bottom?
Answer: Not sure exactly how they measure the mesh, but on mine the side netting is ~3/4" mesh (definitely not 1"), and the bottom is a smaller mesh, it could be 3/8". I use mine for bass fishing so it's perfect for that, and I like the collapsing handle for storage consideration.
Answer: Mine is the same size mesh top to bottom I'm guessing 3/8 to 1/2 inch.
Answer: Yes, or very close to those measurements. Great net, I’ve landed several 5 to 10 pound lake trout with net.
Q:
My net arrived torn and the rubber coating coming off the net. How do I get a refund or exchange?
Answer: Very ease I called amazon
Q:
What size fishing net do i need fishing from deep Concrete dock fishing for Coho salmon?
Q:
How deep is the net?
Answer: It is probably 24” deep. It is a big net.
Q:
Will this land a musky?
Answer: I would go bigger than this. Big pike and eyes, not sure about musky
Answer: Probably. I landed a 42" snook.
Answer: Absolutely, high quality gear!
Answer: Certainly unless it is a record setter!
Answer: absolutely
Answer: I think yes, but I would be inclined to go to the next size up.
Answer: I'm sure it would. I've used mine to land numerous chrome brite sockeye salmon.
Answer: Yes it will land a musky. Prolly not a trophy 50+ inch musky
Answer: Not well. Too small. It’s for bass or walleye.
Answer: Does well for walleye and pike so I’d say yes
Q:
What is the net made of? I fish with 52MR mirrolures a lot and the 3 treble hooks can be a pain to untangle in a cloth net.
Answer: I find the net to be great had it for several yrs. I'm a bass fisherman have been for over 50 yrs always fishing crank baits no problem. the net has a coating like rubber that prevents the hooks from hanging up.
Answer: The material is rubber hooks will not penetrate between nylon fibers like other nets. You may still have to de hook the lure from the net but way easier than any net I have owned.
Answer: It isn’t cloth, not sure of the material, however I’ve never had problems with trebles getting tangled in it - it is a great net!
Answer: its some kind of rubber type material, much better than my old nets, treble hooks are still a problem but somewhat easier than the older nets
Answer: I use mine for walleye and pike fishing. Has held up well. Use Rapalas with treble hooks.
Answer: Great net. It is coated to avoid the treble hook problem.
Answer: Netting itself is rubber coated. However, the mechanism that controls extending and collapsing the handle broke after third use. Sent that message to the seller and they never responded.
Answer: The net is a coated so your hooks shouldn’t snag in it.
Answer: It feels like rubber coated net. It is very supple.
Q:
Would the handle fit in a standard sized fishing rod holder?
Answer: I don’t want to give misleading information as there are different types of rod holders. That being said the base of the net handle is approximately 1 1/4“ in diameter and it would fit in a Scotty type rod holder.
Q:
how much weight will this net support?
Answer: Are use it for Bass fishing and doesn’t have any problem with that kind of weight. Well constructed though.
Answer: I don’t know the maximum weight it will hold but I’ve landed fish in the 20lb area with ease.
Q:
How short does the overall length get when handle is collapased all the way? For storage purposes.
Answer: The overall total length when collapsed is 44.25".
Answer: Just got this net, its about 30" long when collapsed. The net itself is perfectly wide to land most any fish...but its a tad too wide to fit into my storage locker on my boat..I have a Triton Bass boat. Other than that, its a great net.
Answer: 56" long x 20" wide (net area)
Answer: Approximately 4.5 feet is my best estimate.
Answer: 3' 8"
Q:
Does this net fold for storage ease?
Answer: No
Q:
Is it made in china?
Answer: Yes, Frabill products are made in China.
Answer: I the net I has no marks showing where made, but does has a USA patent # maybe that helps.
Answer: I believe they are made in Wisconsin
Q:
Does the handle also slide up into the net area to make it more compact.
Answer: yes the handle does slide up into the net area. Great net for the fishing I do out of a bass boat easily fits on the floor in front of my seat.
Answer: The handle folds up into the net area.
Answer: Yes, the handle slides up into the net area to make in more compact when storing or not in use.
Answer: No it does not. But all in all is a good strong net .
Answer: No but is a great net
Answer: Yep. It's a great net.
Answer: Yes it does. I like this net
Answer: Yep. It's easy to transport. It also telescopes for extra reach. I've had two of these, and abused them to no end with big Carp and big Cats. Occasionally Muskies.
Answer: It does not
Answer: Yes it does.
Q:
Does this net fold!
Answer: The handle telescopes all the way in across the net. It can be slid into a smaller size than the picture shows.....but does not fold.
Answer: No it doesn’t fold but most of the handle goes into the hoop of the net.
Answer: The handle collapses but it does not fold
Answer: NO but the handle can be pushed into the net to reduce the size.
Answer: No it doesn't fold
Answer: No. It has an extendable handle.
Answer: no
Answer: No
Q:
is this net gentle on the fish such as with the new rubber nets
Answer: It is very comparable, does not harm the fish.
Answer: Seems to be gentle from what I see
Answer: Better than rubber!
Q:
Would this work for big pike and musky and walleye? If not what should I het
Answer: I bought this net for bass fishing and it works really well and great quality but I would say that it's not big enough for musky fishing.
Answer: This net would not be large enough. You would need something twice as big, at least.
Answer: My guess you may need to upsize. Sorry, I live in the south we don't have those teethe critters. The subject net is great for bass.
Q:
What is the minimum storage length of the net?
Q:
How long is the handle in total?
Answer: Hard to answer this question as it's a collapsible (retracting) handle, do you want to know the total device length when extended OR just the handle length from the base of the net to the end of the handle when totally extended? Not trying to be difficult, but I'm a systems engineer and for a precise answer one needs a more precise question........
Answer: If you scroll down it tells your in the description dilbert. 24-48”
Q:
the handle/arm looks weak, can it handle a 10# catfish?
Answer: I would not call the handle/arm weak and being a betting man I would say yes it would handle a 10# catfish.
Answer: Mine didn't have any problem with 10-20lb salmon.
Answer: No problem with that cat. The only issue I have with the net is that the extension handle will slide all the way out and it is possible to lose that section overboard, I know I did. Icy gloves with a fish on the line, my extension slid all the way out and sank .....fast. Only issue, just one to be aware of, the rest of the net is good.
Answer: I’ve landed 10 pound plus Lahontan cutthroat trout with mine.
Answer: I would def think so!!! I’ve had bass in it up to 7 1/2lbs and that’s no strain at all. It’s pretty rigid!!!
Answer: You are right. I would never buy another. You need a Ed Cummings net. They are from MI.
Answer: I have put 15 pound salmon in it

Judith A Turner : Easy release
Best fishing net!
James Sarratt : Fishing net
Best net I've ever owned.
GAC : Worth every penny
Great landing net for bass fishing, a little pricy but worth every penny. Boated a 7 lb largemouth my first time out with it. Love how the handle extends and its light weight makes it very comfortable for one handed use. No hook snag. I have only had it for a short while we will see how well it last. Happy purchase.
Mark Tansey : Five Stars

Well built and sturdy. Love the net, as it doesn't harm the fish if you plan to release them.
alan : Five Stars
i like it
Cory R : Lightweight and very portable
I have purchased many nets from Frabill and this is the best one yet. I can't believe it collapses to such a small size. I have netted large carp with it and the durability is excellent. I also like that the hooks and the barbs of catfish don't get snagged due to the rubber coating.
Allen Jones : Failed first use
Not worth the money
Don : Lightweight
Best landing net available
Rachel : I used it 3 times and took very good are of it and the handle broke
I used it 3 times and took very good are of it and the handle broke. Will not stay retracted in the part that slides out. When I twist it it will not lock. All my friends have the exact same net and love it. Must have got a bad one.

Nice look. Could be a little deeper (for bigger fish). Mesh works well at being 'hookless'. Overall, a fine net.
Tanner : Handle Broke
Where the handle slides in and out, during a tournament went to slide the handle to net a fish and it came all the way out, it has a pressed fitting and will not lock back in now.
Hoarse : Pretty nice net
Pros: durable rubberized netting, solid aluminum handle, smooth extending mechanism. It's a pretty nice net overall.
Cons: pad on bottom of handle has weak adhesive and comes off easily when twisting to extend. Can be fixed with more adhesive but it is an annoying problem.
The part where the net loop attaches to the handle is made of plastic. This seems to be a prevailing trend in most nets these days. This part feels like the weakest link in the whole apparatus. This part has some flex but has proven sturdy after being used to net several fish.
Amazon Customer : Very easy to open and close
Total junk!!! Handle is stuck and will not unlock and extend. Stitching is off. Foam grip is just fallen off . All with being used once and sitting in bait the rest of the time. Very pissed off! Tournament tomorrow and a broken net less than 2 months old!!! DO NOT BUY!!!
Clifton E Baker : Poor customer support
Avoid Frabill and Plano products! I purchased a Frabill Power Stow landing net, model 8510. The net is exactly what I needed for my bay boat, it stores easily and is capable of handling big fish.
Unfortunately, the net has one reoccurring defect that Frabill is well aware of and unwilling to offer any support. The push button clips that lock the net into place after extending continually break. I do realize that saltwater is tough on products and things break, but I have some reasonable expectation that a company that sells to fisherman will offer parts to maintain there products.
My extreme frustration derives from the fact that Frabill offers zero customer support in obtaining, what is probably a five cent part. I attempted to purchase replacement parts several months ago from Frabill and was informed none were available and that they had no idea of when parts would be available. I also attempted to obtain who the supplier was and Frabill customer service is unaware. So now several months later, I once again call, and once again I am informed that Frabill has no idea of when parts would be available and to just kept checking in.
I would highly recommend fisherman avoid Frabill and Plano products. Plano/Frabill should take not of the customer support offered by Power Pole and Rhodan, just two of the companies I have dealt with recently that are truly committed to customer support!
valley : Broke easily
Net has seen low usage ( 3 months) and the spring loaded steel ball in the handle that pops into place to hold the net when extended broke.
Sung Kang : Best net I've used
This net is light weight, convenient (due to the sliding handle) and best of all is strong and very kind to the fish. My last net would always tangle with the hooks of my lure and that extra time needed to sort that out is not good for the fish, so kudos to Frabill for making such a good product.
Amazon Customer : Fishing Net
This item is of great quality ! I would order one again.
Powerjoe : Grip will come loose but can be repaired.
I am a big Frabill fan and have multiple Frabill nets. I really like this net but gave it 3 stars for two reasons. First, the handle extends by twisting the grip and sliding out the handle, but the grip came loose the first time using the net and I had to remove it to get through the fishing trip. Second, I contacted Frabill customer support directly asking for advise on what glue to use to repair the net but got no response from them.
I decided to fix the grip myself by using double sided tape used for golf club grips. So far this has works great and I now really like the net.

We have had this net for 1 1/2 years, using it for bay fishing. Has held up really well to the saltwater. The telescoping handle has been a lifesaver. Like how easy it is to remove hooks from it.

This net works great! Brought many fish in the boat that would have been tricky to land on light line and treble hooks. Used it to land multiple 5+ lb pound bass no problem. They stay happy and fit in the net very well. Hooks are easy to de-tangle from the net. The quick extendable handle gives that extra reach when you need it, and the sliding piece allows for easy storage in the front of the boat when not in use.
S. Daniel : I'd buy it again
Well made and a deep enough pocket for the snook and redfish. I have had treble hooks in the netting several times and they are definitely easier to get out than traditional netting.
Amazon Customer : Meets expectations
Coating on net is great.
Patricia Davis : Great deal
Works great as described, we are loving it.
Tyler : Perfect size for bigger To medium size fish. Pike/walleye/bass/lake trout
Awesome net. I spend about 4 days a week on the water I’d recommend it.
