How long can this run ?
Is the filter or screen supposed to pop all the way to the bottom of the "chip pocket" or upper unit, or it s it supposed to sit above the vent?

Does what it's supposed to, but it gets very crusty in the chip chamber, and sticky too. You can't really clean it - maybe it's the finish they cast over the metal cup, but once it gets sticky and dirty, it just sort of stays that way forever.
Also the screen that holds the wood chips up over the vent area (to prevent ash from blowing into your cocktail or food) slips down / doesn't stay in place. It has tiny metal tabs that are supposed to lock it in place, but they are cheap and bend too easily. Also the screen itself is thin and flimsy... I can't imagine it will last long once it's been cleaned a few times. They don't give you any replacement screens in the box, and really should.. or they should make the screen sturdier.

Smoking your bourbon turns out to be an easy and fun way to push it to a whole new flavor category. You can make a very blah bottle of spirits taste like it came with a hefty price tag. And the presentation for craft cocktails is impressive. Pictured here - a smoked bottle of bourbon, and a smoked Old Fashioned. Delicious and I had a good time doing it.
