| Place the open end of the bag into the vacuum chamber, under the buckles. | Press the two sides equally, then you will hear two "click" sound, which mean the lid is properly closed. | Choose the mode you need and press the button (vacuum seal or single seal). | When the LED light is off, the vacuum sealing is finished. Press the buckles on both sides to open the lid. |
Warm Tips:
1. Please do NOT vacuum seal liquid. The liquid is only suitable for seal. If you must use a vacuum seal, please freeze the liquid to a solid, and then you can use a vacuum seal.
2. Please do NOT overfill the bags, leave enough space at the open end of the bag, so that the bag can be placed on the vacuum chamber properly.
3. Please do NOT wet the open end of the bag. Otherwise, the vacuum sealing will be unsuccessful or the sealing effect is not good, and may even cause damage to the machine.
4. Please do NOT let the bag have too much air. You can press the bag lightly to exhaust most of the air inside so that you can reduce the time of pumping vacuum and improve the efficiency of vacuum sealing.
5. Please keep the open end of the bag clean and straight before sealing. Make sure nothing is left on the open area of the bag.
6. Please wrap the tip with paper to avoid puncturing the bag, when you vacuum seal food with sharp protrusions such as bones and food with thorns.

So I recently decided to cook my meat sous-vide style and bought a sous-vide cooker. I have been trying to use zip-lock bags and empty the air in them but it was not too practical. I decided to try a vacuum sealer and get this one. Oh boy I wish I did that sooner. What a difference it makes when cooking meats. The flavor and juice are much better preserved with the vacuum seal. Yes, it is an extra expense to buy the vacuum bags but I also bought bulk bags for about $15 which you cut to the desired length. This will minimize waste and they will last me quite a while. The machine itself works well. It is not too loud. You need to wait for 5-10 seconds between seals which is not a big deal if you are not cooking too much meat at a time. I am very satisfied with this machine!

My FoodSaver is more a sealer than a vacuum sealer. Don't know if it's age, or what, but I needed a vacuum sealer. Since I'll be traveling with it, it had to be small and lightweight, but functional. Cheap was another plus. I wasn't expecting much out of this, but the first bag -- I can (almost) drive a nail with a block of instant tea. FoodSaver is headed to Goodwill. Even though it says you can't use the larger (11.5") bags, they just fit and perform just as well as the smaller bags. You will have to line up the large bags "just so". Added bonus over FoodSaver - inside the vacuum chamber/slot are two "hooks" that you push the open bag edge under -- it holds the bag in position.
