What's the difference between Preserve & Marinate modes?

The Preserve mode will suck all the air out of the container to ensure, that products inside last the longest possible amount of time. These containers are designed with premium Tritan material for extreme durability, so they won't crack or stain. Tritan is a BPA-free plastic. Answer: I think they work great. I did use them to marinate, and I think they did well. I mostly use them for my chopped lettuce, which lasts a good week if I spin the lettuce in a salad spinner first.

How do you know when all the air has been removed? Does the vacuum shut off?
Answer: The vacuum should shut off, and there is a little button in the lid that depresses as the air is pulled out. If you are having problems, make sure that the edge of the container has no food on it. If there is any residue, it will not seal. Also, I’ve noticed that these containers may lose their vacuum over time, (either in the fridge or freezer) and may have to be resealed.

Answer: The containers are only compatible with Foodsaver units that have the accessory hose and setting. I am unfamiliar with the V2420 so am unsure, check for the "accessory " control and hose if it doesn't have them then the containers are not compatible. If it does have them these containers are the best I have found yet.

I love my food saver and the ease regarding usage of these products, however, with that being said, my big dish works a solid 5, the smaller one, lasts only about 12 hours before the air is back? Average a 5 star rating with a 1 star for the non working dish, and you get the overall 3.
