Will these jigheads hold up against anything over 8 pounds

Answer: I would say yes but there's alot of factors to consider. I have caught 40lb fish with a small Aberdeen hook but I had room to play the drag. If you're in a river and a monster hits with no choice but to lock down and pull no hook is going to hold up. Overall I like the jighead specialy the assortment of hard to find weights like 1/ 120oz. Good luck and a good buy.

I just got these in and they won't even hook my finger (Top layer), should I be worried about them hooking the fish? Primarily trout.

The bead head on these hooks was just lead crimped on and painted to the hook. It couldn't even hold up to the thread pushing against it while tying flies. I hoped it was just one bad hook, but upon inspection, they are all easily broken off.
