Answer: The answer is THREE. I assumed there would be at least six for the $7.62. That was about a $4.00 mistake. The jigs, by the way, are quite good; I hardly use anything else.

Answer: I would probably say to use the 1/8 oz size but it really depends on the water current where you are fishing along with the size of the gulp bait you are using. You want it heavy enough to not get swept away too quickly if the current is strong but not so heavy that it falls to the bottom too quickly when jigging and takes away from the action of the bait. The 1/8 oz would probably be a good place to start. Hope that helps & tight lines!

Answer: Well, you should use a 3/8 oz head if you plan on fishing water over 5 feet or so. In shallower water use a quarter oz. The half oz is for deep water and strong currents. Great jigs for saltwater. The best value I know of for a strong jig....
Answer: Depends on the target species. Small mouth fish like perch, specks, trout, snappers use no larger than a 2/0. To catch flukes as in flounder, reds, snook or base, go up to 6/0. Make the baits hop and stop on the bottom with a tight line Use flouro. Free info from Capt Dave Merry Christmas
Answer: Depends on the depth you're fishing. Use 1/16th oz for less than a foot, 1/4th oz for more than 4 feet, and 1/8 oz. in between. These are some of my favorite jigs.

These Strike King jigs have been great for coastal fishing. I target mostly Flounder/Reds/Specks in and along intracoastal waters and these things have held up incredibly well. These are some of the sharpest hooks I've found on a jig head and they stay sharp. The paint/finish on the jig head is very durable as well. Even after accidentally hooking a few sharks, these things look almost brand new. I would prefer a different style of bait keeper instead of the 2 sharp points, however, this style does work and the bait stays securely attached when rigged properly. Only downside (as others have mentioned) is the price considering that only 3 come in a pack. For me it is worth it...

Jig heads are 5 stars for sure but the price is crazy talk... these can be bought at dicks sporting goods for $4. that being said if this is the only way you can but jig heads you will not be disappointed. the hood is quality the head is quality. FYI the shaft on these is longer then you may be used to so it will get stuck a lot in mangroves or other vegetation, but hey if it was easy everyone would do it.

These are well made jigs and - coupled with a Gulp mullet - irresistable to the finny inhabitants of off shore Florida. They hook and hold! Keep your flourocarbon leader extra long and cast away. Good product.

My favorite jig head for saltwater lures (swimbait, paddle tails, jerk bait, etc.). Just remember light weight for shallow (2-4ft) and heavy for deep (5-10). Retrieval speed plays a major role in depths as well. To me it all depends on number how deep am I fishing and how hard is the wind blowing. I've been using a 1/4 oz. to a 3/8 oz. with strong wind. You need to be in contact with the lure in order to work it properly. Wind blowing your line to the point that you can't feel the lure is not good. On calm days, I will throw a 1/8 oz.

Picked these 3/8 oz jigs for Fluke surf fishing in New Jersey. The price is a bit steep for three jig heads but the jig itself is 5 star quality with a good hook size and the barbs held a 4" mister twister no problem.
