Product reviews of ChoJiah 8 inches Bag Sealer Impulse Sealer Heat Sealers Sealing Machine with One Repair Kit
MOCTODNOZAMA : Excellent sealer, but be careful with the sharp bottom edges...
I've bought cheap infomercial sealers before, so I didn't expect much. But I was pleasantly surprised at how well this thing works. Some products focus on the aesthetics and the marketing, while others are actually real tools that work, but lacking in aesthetics. This tool is great! But it doesn't seemed to be refined for regular homeowners. Right off the bat, I must warn you to be very careful when you take it out the box. Your hands will naturally either grab the upper handle or the base of the handle, and the edges along these bottoms are SHARP. I did not cut myself or anything, but it felt uncomfortable taking it out. Any sudden jerks, or movements, I could easily see accidents. So remove slowly, and wear gloves to be extra careful. Like I said, sharp edges, looks ugly, looks like it belongs in a warehouse, not a home. But most importantly, it simply works great! The seals are nice and strong too. Some seals are so weak, you can open the seal nicely. I could not re-open the seals, the bag would just rip and the seal is intact.
HOW TO USE: ----------------- Simply plug it in. There will be no indicator lights of any kind. Set your temperature depending on thickness. When I tested this thing out, I just grabbed whatever bags I could find, and how the heck would we know how thick random bags are? So I simply put the temperature at 4, and I was happy with every random bag I sealed. So anyway, you place your bag on it, and press the handle. The only time you will see a light, which is RED, is when it's done sealing. It'll be very quick too. You press it, and boom, red light comes on. Manual says wait about a second before you release handle after seeing the light. With this process, all my seals were rock solid. One last thing to note.. the upper arm does not close. There is no clip or anything to keep it down, so you might want to wrap the power cord around it to keep it down.
This is a 5 star tool!

After I used it, I thought I become younger and happier!!!
Anonymous by Necessity : Large capacity, versatile bag sealer for foods and other items
We've long been users of a vacuum sealer for preserving fresh and leftover foods, and have occasionally pressed it into service to store small parts, even important paperwork, to protect it from moisture or water damage when kept in a hostile environment, like an outdoor garage.
More recently, we've taken to using the vacuum sealer more often to extend the freshness of crunchy snacks, like pretzels, tortilla chips or potato chips, all of which we enjoy, but have to limit the quantity that we eat. Though this works very well, one must take care to properly initiate the vacuum sequence and then switch to the sealing phase before the vacuum crunches up any of the delicate contents. That's why I jumped to order this impulse sealer when I saw the ad here on Amazon.
One cogent reminder: this is a SEALER, not a VACUUM sealer. It doesn't evacuate the air from the bag, it's only intended to provide a protective seal against continuous air infiltration.
I like the generous 12" sealing strip size, which accommodates the biggest bags of chips I've seen, and is also suitable for gallon-sized zip top bags, which can be sealed with careful adjustment of the control. Some experimentation may be required to determine the proper setting for they type of plastic you're trying to seal.
I also like the ease of insertion of the bag onto the sealing platform. A pivoting arm swings up out of the way, enabling very quick positioning of the bag and its contents. Once in place, simply press down the arm to close off the opening of the bag. A built-in switch briefly applies power to the heating element, and, after waiting a couple of seconds, the process is completed. Simply allow the arm to come back up to it's resting position and remove the bag. Done!
With the occasional use it will get from us, I imagine that its lifetime will be long. But I was please to see that a replacement heating wire and high-temperature tape were included in the package. I will note that one end of the heating element wasn't connected in my unit upon receipt, probably due to rough handling in shipping. But it was immediately evident upon inspection, and easily connected to its attachment point.
Bottom line, this is a simple device that ought to work well with many types of plastic bags, with a little experimentation. And it ought to last a long time. 4 stars for the basics, and another for the inclusion of the spare replacement parts!
Jspec1 : It works as described, but wondering how long it will last.
This simple unit like many others on amazon, is an 8" sealer, with an extra element and instructions. Entry level materials and craftmanship, simple adjustment dial in front and thin 6 ft cord. Very simple to use and consistent so far. I sealed the white and blue bubble envelopes from amazon prime, no problem. Even and strong seal. I also tried some 3mil vacuum bags, no problem. It seems to work better on thicker materials. Will report back in 6 months with any updates or changes.
Amazon Customer : Not worth purchasing.
This sealer stopped working 3 weeks after receiving it.
scott nace : Ok for home use
Does what it’s supposed to do. Construction feels a little on cheap side and cord seems a little light. Not for commercial setting but at home to seal the few bags a week I need to seal it works just fine.
Kristine Krueger : does not work
you have to hit the handle for it to work and then it still does not work. it was a gift and my friend was worried I would be mad that she didn't like it
Cat from Mars : So Far So Good
So far this has worked well on a few different sized bags I have tried. Might take a few adjustments depennding on the bag size. This is great for keeping snacks fresh, like bags of premade popcorn and chips and such. The only thing I dislike about this machine is how incredibly old-fashioned it looks. It's quite large as well, and takes up more room than I would like. There was an extra cloth strip included to replace the one on the machine should you need to, and an odd metal tool. I do not know what the tool does.
Amazon Customer : Only heats up when you push the lever down. Pretty safe.
Great value for the money.

William : Nice plastic bag sealer
It is a very nice plastic bag sealer. Its operation is very simple and it can seal bags very fast. But if you want seal bags perfectly/completely, you would need more practice no matter for small or big bags. I realized that the sealing time and the position where to put the bag really matter for good sealing. The good thing is that it has a backup heating strip. So no worries about hurting the heating strip to practice more.
