Answer: Most ziplock bags are not thick enough for vacuum sealing and will simply melt, ruining the stuff you are trying to seal.

This vacuum sealer is horrible. Don’t waste your money on it. I ended up returning it and purchasing a different one ( which I love!) It would not suction at all with the vacuum bags I purchased. And it only worked with the few bags it came with about 75% of the time. It was very frustrating.

This thing never worked from the start. Barely had any suction and left bags unsealed. Only tried about 8 bags and then this thing stopped working completely. Now I'm past the return date and cannot find any way to contact the vendor. Spend more money and get a better one!

POS......Very poorly made. I've spent most of the evening trying to make this work, without success. I read the direction before I started, but it just didn't work. I was trying to seal ham. It's not like I was trying to preserve soup or sushi. It never would seal. I got it to vacuum some of the time, but it never would seal completely. I made sure the bags stayed dry in the seal area. I didn't over-fill the bags. I never could get the "seal only" feature to work either.

I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews that this would be too small, too slow, or too weak, and maybe it would be for some applications, but it couldn't be more perfect for me. When I buy 12 chicken thighs (boneless or bone in) or 12 chicken breasts and want to divide them into 4 packages of three that can be frozen and defrosted for use later, this is perfect. It takes me only a few minutes to pull this compact device out of a cabinet, plug it in, let it heat up and seal the first bag. By the time I have that bag marked and in the freezer the machine is ready for me to seal the next one. It took me a little trial and error at the beginning to learn how to place the bag to get a good seal, directions weren't great, but once I got that right, everything afterward has been easy peasy and I probably use this device after every second trip to the grocery store. My only regret is that I didn't get it earlier when our kids were younger and the family was larger. It really helps in breaking bulk buys down into manageable and preservable portions.

I've never used anything like this before. I never thought I could afford something like this. Because it was always so expensive. But this device is so convenient that I can take food out of my cupboard and put it away whenever I need it. So far, it's saved me a lot of space in my fridge. I really liked it.

I TRIED to make this product do its' job, but no matter how I tried to troubleshoot, it did not consistently suction the air out of the bag, either over or under sealed the bags and was a big waste of money. Moisture from the wet food is being sucked into the pump, because the pump suction inlet is in the middle and next time you try to use, it will not work, until you bang it a couple of times. The cover presses the start button while closing the lid and you just wasting the bags. I had to buy another brand. This one went right into the garbage.

Bought this product as replacement for Food Saver that went out after 10 years of occasional use. Disappointed by the limited size this Vacuum Sealer will do on food bags, as it only effectively seals small bags. Tried using larger bags and the Vacuum Sealer 2020 will not remove all the air from the bag, thus resulting in freezer burn on the meat I am freezing, or I have to use 3 small bags to freeze 1 family pack of chicken or pork chops from grocery store meat department. On a positive note this Vacuum Sealer is much smaller in size than the Food Sealer I had.

I would spend extra money for one that is easier to use. This one you have to position exactly correct or you waste part or all of the bag. I found the instructions less than helpful in this matter. Always wanted something like this to vacuum save food and other junk. I just didn't want to spend about 80 to 90 dollar around town for the name brand one. Ever since I got it i have been playing with it pretty much ever since. Very simple and compact. Decided to vacuum save some old vintage money and coins and just random things since It came with extra bags. Like i said very simply two button, one to vacuum and seal automatically and another button just to seal only no vacuum.

I have tried sealing chip bags, frozen food bags just pretty much anything that is a one time open use non resealable bags. What I have learn is that the unit is timed to seal for X amount of time for the food saver bags so when sealing for example chip bag if you wait until the unit stops the heating element you might melt the bag so you have to play around with how much time you want to heat the bag. I can tell you with a lot of trial an error that you can seal pretty much any bags

The thicker the plastic or material the better it seals is another way to put it. Thinner bags melt way to quick so you have to get it off the heating element

Pros:
•Very simple to use
•Very compact and lightweight
•Only two buttons automatic vacuum and seal and just seal
•well priced for something like this
•wont break your wallet
•seems well made
•SAVES FOOD AND MONEY

Cons:
•Okay suction power, does the job but i'm sure theres other more expensive unit that sucks the air out quicker in my opinion is kind of slow for large item
• not a lot of features but for the price cant I really complain?

regardless of the suction power was it worth it. I would say so. Only thing about it is certain plastic wont seal like some chip bags will and some wont but as far as the food saver bags its perfect which is what its made for.

I uploaded some pictures of me sealing a chip bag. Photo are not in order. I upload it in order but it gets rearranged for some reason.
