Answer: The FD-80 and FD-80A can each be expaned to use 8 trays total.

Answer: I have Nesco American Harvest food dehydrator & Jerky Maker. I don't know if it would fit yours. Sorry.

Is this bpa free? is it safe to cook food in plastic?

Answer: Yes, these trays are BPA-free. In our NESCO dehydrator trays, we only use BPA-free, food safe plastic to ensure the safety of our home chefs.

Answer: No...they sell trays that are bad to dehydrate food on??? Seriously...of course they are safe...

Answer: It is not stamped and I no longer have the original packaging. The highest temp. My Nesco 80 will operate at is 160 F or 71 c so I don't know if heat leaching is an issue. There was never a smell from the use or an unusual taste of the finished product.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Answer: I wash mine by hand

Is this a good product for drying out nuts and seeds that I've soaked? I like to soak about 2-3 cups per week. It's healthier.

Answer: Yes, it would work very nicely but you have to make sure you order the "Clean-A-Screen" for each drying tray or else the small seeds like sunflower would fall through grates on tray. Pumpkin seeds would be alright. One screen should be all you need if you're just drying 2 cups per week. You can order them on the Nesco website and probably Amazon as well. Eat Healthy!

Just as advertised. Since the hydrator will take an additional 4 trays that's just what I ordered and they work perfectly. Just finished making a new batch of jerky and all turned out perfect. I only made 4 lbs. of meat and needed just 2 additional trays but at least now I can buy up to about 6 lbs of meat. Now I wont't have to make jerky as often or need to make 2 seperate batches.

I love my Nesco dehydrator and use it all the time. If you are like me you would rather do a lot at once as opposed to doing small batches a lot more often. I don't have time to mess with dehydrating during the week so that means I have to get a batch ready on the weekend and I want to be able to make enough to last for the next week. These additional trays help me do that and if you are going to use your dehydrator often I would recommend getting extras. I didn't get them at first because I wanted to be sure I would use the thing enough to justify buying more trays. After a few batches and I knew I needed them. Great product!

No complaints here. This model only came with 4 trays and we needed more. I use this to quick set royal icing and can only fit 7-10 cookies on each tray. That's really not a lot. These were the perfect addition to an already pretty awesome dehydrator. :)

Just as described! They work perfectly with my FD-80 dehydrator I recently purchased and come in handy for the larger batches of jerky that I make. I have not noticed any warping or material weakening as I have used and used and used them. I do wash them in the dish washer and just make sure not to wash on high heated water and I also open it to air dry and have not had any issues thus far. I am very pleased to add this to the 4 trays that came with my dehydrator.

I love my FD-80 and finally was able to add two more trays to my initial set of 4. I hope to add two more, which is the max (8 trays) for this dehydrator. I definitely recommend these trays and the Nesco FD-80 to anyone who is just starting the dehydrate or cannot afford one of the more expensive machines.

A must have for all food dryers! I love the fact that you can add or decrease your stack. I am up to 8 trays now and it is great. You can dry a lot of apples at one time with so many extra trays. What a great idea and I beleive the price is right!

These additional trays are a match to the original trays. I ordered these two additional trays before using the Dehydrator. The trays are very good and I like them but because this dehydrator came with four large trays, really did not need the additional capacity. Grandkids like the pineapple and the jerky. The original shipment got lost but it worked out in the end.

We use it a lot. its easy....clean up is a little awkward, but I think you can put the trays in the dishwasher. i just choose to wash them by hand. I like that you can add or subtract trays depending upon your need.

I bought these to increase the batch size for the Nesco FD-80A Square-Shaped Dehydrator. When creating a marinade my son likes to make larger batches so all the piecves are similar in base taste, he then can season each "shelf" with different spices as he chooses.

Not much to say, these are made for the square shaped FD-80 Nesco dehydrator and fit just like the ones that came with the unit. They are slightly lighter colored than the original racks, but really not a big deal to me. Since the FD-80 can go up to 8 racks total, I will probably ended up buying one more set.

I bought these extra trays for this hydrator (which is the best hydrator I have ever owned!) because I wanted to be able to dry a lot at the same time. For me, these were a NECESSITY to expand my Nesco/American Harvest FD-80 Square-Shaped Dehydrator. I'm glad that I did too, because I use all 6 each time! Even if it's for old bananas about to go off...throw them in here for an easy snack!

i did alot of searching and comparing and this one won out, i love it. been having lots of fun trying different things and so far my family is loving everything too! I like that its square, and it fits right on my kitchen counter without looking odd or out of place. I think I've used it every day since I bought it. My grandkids love it to, and make lots of suggestions on what we should try dehydrating. So far they love the apples and bananas and strawberries. We mix them and add things to make our own trail mix. They ask for the dried fruit now instead of candy and things like that!They are even suggesting different veggies to try. It has been a great way to get them interested in eating right. i am so glad i bought the two extra trays. they are easy to clean and very easy to use.

I order two sets of these to increase my tray capacity to eight. The new trays look and fit perfectly. As far as replacements go, this is what you want. I did notice that I got the most even drying using only four trays, and that increasing to 6 wasn't too bad, but using all eight required me to rotate the trays. Just keep it in mind if you're looking to expand vs replace.

These screens are for the Nesco F89 dehydrator and we love it. They are well built and we feel they will withstand many months of daily use. Another great product. Be sure to check out this square model dehydrator as it is extremely well made and the drying seems more accurate than the round units. All in all a great purchase.
