Food drying is a way to preserve fruit, vegetables, and animal proteins after harvest, which has been practiced since antiquity. Food Dehydrators use non stick sheets to prevent foods such as sugary fruits from sticking during the drying process. Our Fruit Roll Up Sheets are made of flexible plastic, so they can be curled and foods simply peeled off. The sheets are also useful for preventing small food items such as herbs and spices from falling through the dehydrators' trays.
- The Solid Sheets make fruit rolls easy and simple to make. Simply pour liquefied fruit on the sheet, set it, and forget it. Our sheets can hold up to a cup and a half of liquid or puree. When your liquid has dried, easily remove it with our malleable plastic design. Make perfectly healthy snacks without preservatives right in your home!
- Use Mesh Screens to prevent foods such as sugary fruits from sticking during the drying process. Our Non stick mesh screens are made of flexible plastic, so they can be curled and foods simply peeled off. The screens are also useful for preventing small food items such as herbs and spices from falling through the dehydrators' trays. Questions about Flexzion Nonstick Mesh Screen for Food Dehydrator Machine (12 Inch) 2 Pack, Reusable Plastic Round Dehydrator Trays Liner Sheets for Food Beef Jerky Vegetable Meat Fish Herb Screen Dehydrator Supplies
Q:
What is the hard plastic white circle tray with the hole in the middle used for?
Answer: I have this unit and didn't get a hard plastic white circle tray with a hole in the middle.... other than the dehydrator itself where the heat and fan mechanisms are. The clear perforated trays stack on top of it. In my experience, there was no white circle tray.
Answer: Your question is hard to understand. The five trays have a approximate 3" hole in the center to allow the warm fan driven air to circulate to the top trays. To expand on this it's good to rotate the trays to help facilitate even drying.
Answer: making fruit leather
Answer: fruit roll ups
Q:
Does anyone knows the material made of? Bpa free?
Q:
Is there a copy of the instruction manual?
Answer: There is a minimal Manuel with it with time and temp guides for basically fruits and veggies. As far as jerky and meats goes the Manual does not go into it but this is a nice dehydrater and works real nice
Answer: I don't know, it was bought for my friend.
Q:
Do the fruit leather inserts work with ronco dehydrators?? not the racks, but the plastic inserts for fruit leather
Q:
Is this product made in the USA?
Answer: This Product is made in China.
Answer: No. China made
Q:
Is this BPA free?
Q:
Hi does this unit work on 220/240 volts ?
Answer: Our Food Dehydrator works off of 110V but can be used on 220/240 Volts with a step-down converter.
Answer: No, it works on 110 v
Answer: Wish I could tell you; unit stopped working during the first time we used it and we returned it
Q:
Do the mesh screens fit the Presto Dehydrator?
Q:
Where to purchase replacement lids? A small salt shaker fell and broke the top.
Q:
Does this product have any warranty?
Answer: This product has a 1yr warranty through our company.
Answer: no there is no warrenty
Q:
Can this be used for drying soaked nuts?
Answer: Yes, after some research, soaking then dehydrating nuts is the best way to store or prepare them. Our dehydrator would be ideal for this process.
Answer: I don't see why not. I know someone who even makes beef jerky with one.
Answer: I would think so
Q:
What is setting for beef jerky?
Q:
eller or manufacturer how many pounds of meat you can store?
Answer: I didn't use it for meat, I used it for fruits
Answer: I can’t tell you. The unit stopped working part way thru the first time we used it and we lost the whole batch. Returned it and did not replace.
Q:
How do I get replacement trays for my flexzion dehydrator?
Answer: You don't, it's like anything made today its use it then just replace it I regret buying mine
Answer: Have you tried contacting the company?
Q:
Does this have a two or three pronged plug?
Answer: 2 prong. No need for a product like this to have a 3rd grounding plug.
Q:
How many watts is this unit?
Q:
Is it bpa free?
Q:
Does anyone sell extra trays for this thing?
Answer: You might try to see if the company has a website, other than that I'm not sure. Maybe Amazon?
Q:
can you dehydrate full meals with this?
Answer: You could, but it would be a lot of work to get the meat cut thin enough to dehydrate without a meat slicer. You would have jerky. The vegetables would have to be cut in thin slices and would probably have to be re hydrated for consumption.
Answer: I am not sure why one would like to do that however; by volume, yes you could. The recommended way of using a dehydrator is to dry like things together due to the size, thickness and drying time needed for various food products. For example, while you certainly could dry meat for jerky and yogurt at the same time, your yogurt would taste of meat/spices and would dry much faster than your meat. Hope that clears it up.
Answer: I can't answer that for you. I bought mine to remove moisture from my 3D printing filament. With some modifications of the shelves, I am able to stack 3 spools at a time. It works great for my needs.
Q:
Does anyone know of dehydrator sheets that work for this particular model?
Answer: I found a video on youtube.com on how to make dehydrator sheets. Here's the link to the video. https://youtu.be/MigrztFWAQM
Answer: I have not found any yet. I purchased the ones that were offered as an add on and they don't fit.
Q:
What is setting for beef jerky
Answer: The recipe you are using should give you an idea of the temperature range you should use.
Q:
How many watts does it require?
Answer: The Food Dehydrator is 245 Watts.
Q:
Would Ronco trays fit this unit?
Answer: They do not. I purchased them because it was made to appear that they will work. I can not find a premade insert to fit so I have had to make my own. For the money this is a good unit, I teach classes and show the lower cost model and the better models for comparison.
Q:
What material are the trays made up of? Hoping they are not plastic at such high temperatures.
Answer: They are made of a high temperature plastic material. They don't melt but do get brittle after continued use at high temperatures. We lost two of the trays already and the others are showing signs of cracking. We have had ours for a few months and have made jerky 5-6 times with it.
Answer: The plastic is a food safe plastic able to withstand the temperatures. Not dishwasher safe.
Answer: Yes they are but I have not had any trouble with them regarding heat. I hope this helps.
Q:
in what country is the product made? China?
Q:
CAn I Beef jerky can i make it?
Answer: I believe if you marinate your meat and slice it very thin, you should be successful
Answer: theoretically yes, but it takes a long time and lots of attention.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does the lid snap on, or does it lock on?
Answer: It just sits on top. No locking or securing in any way. Just uses gravity!
Answer: The lid sits on top without locking. This provides for air movement.
Answer: Does not snap or lock on. Just sets on top.
Answer: Locks on by turning
Answer: It snap on.
Answer: No, it just rests on top.
Q:
where can you buy the fruit rollup inserts for this model. I bought the ones that they advertise that people buy (nesco) and they don't fit.
Answer: I bought Neso inserts as well and yes they do not fit. I just make them work by balancing very carefully.
Q:
How Good is this dehydrator work for making beef jerky
Answer: I thought it worked fine and it was why I bought it to begin with. BUT, it was sort of odd that the instruction booklet only talked about veggies and fruits, nothing about jerky. If you have good recipes it works great for jerky or other meats.
Answer: I feel the dehydrator works wonderfully for jerky. I've used mine numerous times making both beef and pork jerky and found no problems, it comes out great!
Answer: I don't know. I only use it for dog treats,(apples and sweet potatoes). Works great for that.
Answer: Great thats all i use it for
Q:
difference in "stackable" and ''removeable" trays in dehydrator machines?
Answer: Food Dehydrators that are labeled as removable might not have trays that can stack. Our Food Dehydrator has stackable and removable trays.
Answer: They can be stacked 5 high or 2 high so I guess that equals removable
Answer: Ihave no idea?
Q:

Q:
Need cooking suggestions. Just received mine and want tips for how hot/long to cook apples (for starters) and other things. Anybody with experience?

Answer: I would contact Amazon and let them know it was damaged upon shipping. They are very helpful with replacing items. Best of luck
Q:
Is this a BPA free product?
Q:
Can this be used outside us, on 220v?
Answer: You would have to buy a Voltage Converter From 220/240 to 110/120--one that can carry 1500 watts, I think it is.
Q:
Can you add more than 5 trays to the flexzion?
Answer: Sorry Robert! I haven't used it yet. I'm sure you can stack more than five trays, i just not so sure if the heat circulation is sufficient through out and evenly among many trays. Good luck!

Dgarrow : turns on and heats but...
unit turns on and heats but does not reach full operating temperature. when set to max ( 70c/160F ) it only reached about 145F.. stay away if you need the higher temperatures.

Gabo : Two Stars
Cheep product. The trays melted along with the food.
Marlin L. Patterson : Not expensive, works great.
I used it for both fruits and vegables. Works great
Kimberly Watson : The dehydrator works fine for simple jobs like making chips
The dehydrator works fine for simple jobs like making chips, dried fruit, etc., but the trays have broken in some form or fashion every time I've used it. I no longer have a single tray intact. They break in USE, too. It wasn't because I was being rough with them or washing them in hot water. They just have cracked during the dehydration process.
Marlin L. Patterson : Not expensive, works great.
I used it for both fruits and vegables. Works great
Blender Duk : DIY filament dryer.
I bought it to dry 3D printing filament. I was expecting acrylic trays, dreading cutting the center out the whole time due to the brittleness of acrylic. However, I was pleasantly suppressed when the trays were a polypropylene like material! The centers came out and my PRTG and PC have been so much fryer for it!
The temperatures are pretty close. And I am sure this would do a great job with food. This is a great budget dehydrator.
Live and love : Home run for the price range
Put in a tough week of 4 11 hour days. Did the job and it's still working. Didn't get too warm on its lowest temp.
Jared : Works for my application perfectly!
I used it to dry out my printer filament and it worked absolutely amazingly!
KIM MERTENS : love it. what a difference to have an air ...
love it. what a difference to have an air dryer. I've already made 5 batches of beef jerkey and we are in love with the taste of dried apples and bananas.
Mahavir Shah : Three Stars
its ok.
demonnoid : Five Stars
Great for beef jerky
Alpacamade : Works fine.
For a budget unit, this one did the trick last season. I processed banana chips, herbs, ginger & lots of lemongrass. Everything turned out as I expected
jackie ewing : an excellent value.
Just as described, an excellent value...
Josh : 3D filiment
Great for dehydrating nylon 3D filiment. I've even left the dehydrator running with the filiment inside while doing longer prints (40+ hours!) and have had no issues.

fattymoko : Do not purchase this item.
By all pictures of this dehydrator, the trays look elevated at twice the level of the element unit below. These trays do not rise this high at all and air circulation is poor because of it. With all 5 trays stacked, they rise to no more than the height of the bottom unit I had to flatten items to make them fit on the trays. I bought this model purposely because it has see through trays and cover, making it less likely that I would have to open the unit to check for doneness. Produce and meat touched the tray above even though I cut them less than 1/2" in thickness. Unit is very quiet, which is great, less sound than a fan. However, the air circulation is poor because of the shallow depth of the trays and it took much longer than expected to dehydrate even thin slices of blanched carrots. Over 12 hours and the carrots are still damp and leathery instead of crisp and dry. And mind you, I patted each carrot slice dry with a paper towel, as did I with the chicken slices. Nothing was seasoned as the carrots and chicken are for my dog so there was no salt to retain moisture in the produce or meat. Even unseasoned, the drying time was unexpectedly long. The chicken strips are taking much longer, 12 hours and I had to rotate trays even with a built in fan. It dries unevenly due to the irregularities of the cuts I'm sure but after 12 hours, half the chicken is still moist. The bottom trays heat and dry faster than the top. I had read that I did not have to rotate trays but that is just not so. Also, the unit takes over an hour to heat to 160 degrees so the chicken was sitting in cool air for an hour, at least. I would suggest that you start the unit way ahead of stacking loaded trays if the thermostat is important to whatever you are drying. Another issue is that Amazon suggested that the replacement trays are the Nesco LM~2~6 by virtue of the fact that they claim people who buy this Flexzion also buy the Nesco mesh trays. I had to cut them to fit the Flexzion and that's tantamount to damaging a new item just to I can use it. They are clumsy and add to the drying time. I would recommend using parchment paper to line the trays instead of the mesh liners. Nothing stuck to the mesh trays but when I removed them and replaced them with parchment paper, the drying time was noticeably decreased. For $40.00 I guess I can't complain too much but I wouldn't suggest this item to a friend and wouldn't buy another one. I'm not totally dissatisfied but more disappointed in myself for not remembering, "You get what you pay for." Still, the added Nesco trays? That was deceptive. Do not buy the Nesco trays with this Flexzion. So the final verdict? I can live with it, I guess.
Turns out I can't. A few days into using this item I heard a ticking sound from it. A few times, maybe 10 or so. I looked at the machine, there was nothing obviously wrong with it. Until I lifted the trays and they cracked in half. 2 are cracked. Returning for full refund.

George V : Good filament dryer
Works as expected, noting fancy, for a good price.
Yulesh Patel : Used for a FDM filament Dryer
For those of you considering using this to dry FDM filament and are planning to cut up the included trays: hold on!
A $3 home depot bucket will do the job and allow you stack alot more spools.
tojam5 : Gifted
Bought as a gift
Heather’s : Only used twice..
I did buy this 4 years ago but, I only used it two times and then it sat in the cupboard for years. We just moved to a home with 17 mature fruit trees and tons of apricots to harvest so I brought it back out, prepped my fruit and got my three year old to help fill up the trays. We’ve been waiting for 2 days now with the temp turned ALL the way up and clearly our fruit is not drying, there is NO heat at all, it’s just rotting and my kitchen which should be filled with the delightful smell of baking fruit is instead filled with fruit flies. It’s clearly past the return date so I’ll just have to throw it away. Don’t waste your money on this like I did!
tojam5 : Gifted

Thomas Ramey Watson : Great value. Works well
No complaints. Great value. Works well. I just wish you could buy more shelves to add to the machine.
Roberto Rodriguez : great for 3d printing filament
Let me start by saying i don't you this for food. I have several 3d printers and i use this to dry out the filament i use before printing. It works great i just with they sold trays separately so i could dry more at a time.
Reba Clark : A waste of time and
The trays broke the first time I used them. I would not buy this again. A waste of time and money
Carrie Novak : I teach classes in dehydrating food so I am pleased with what was sent (for the money)
I teach classes in dehydrating food so I am pleased with what was sent (for the money). I use my Excalibur so much but I wanted to demonstrate a less expensive model for those that can't afford as much. It works great. It only gets a 4 because I am unable to buy an insert to make jerky and fruit roll ups. Amazon shows a nesco insert and it does not fit. It is disappointing from that standpoint. I will have to either cut the nesco ones I paid for or find another solution.
Josh : 3D filiment
Great for dehydrating nylon 3D filiment. I've even left the dehydrator running with the filiment inside while doing longer prints (40+ hours!) and have had no issues.

so far so good
Sherry : Not disappointed works great
This dehydrator works great. Have done Figs and Okra came out perfect.
jackie ewing : an excellent value.
Just as described, an excellent value...
14sierra : Seems to work ok
It gets the job done. Unfortunately the little light on the power button that turns on when the dehydrator is working broke within a week of purchasing. I would return it but it's not worth the effort. Just be aware the the quality control on this particular product may not be the best.
Amazon Customer : Amazeing
I love the Dehydrater. I found it easy to use and to clean. I recommen buying this to everyone
Donna : Nice dehydrator-Poor instruction guide
Works like a charm. Quick delivery. This is a very nice dehydrator, the only thing I have issues with is the instruction manual. This dehydrator has a temperature knob ranging from 95 degrees F to 165 degrees F. There are no instructions as to where it should be set for various foods. My last dehydrator had a much more comprehensive instruction manual and even had instructions for dehydrating all different types of fruits, vegetables, and meats.
Marlin L. Patterson : Not expensive, works great.
I used it for both fruits and vegables. Works great
Karmen D : Great dehydrator!
Amazing product. Fits just about anything
RG. : Does what it says it will do
I think it should be a rule that before anyone gives a review, especially a negative review, that they understand the product they've purchased and know how to use it. Take for example, a recent reviewer claims that the distance between the trays is too small to put even the smallest pieces of food on the trays to stack.
Had this reviewer understood how to use the Flexzion, they would have seen that each tray has tabs on the top side of the tray and standoffs on the underside of the tray. This gives you two options, one where each tray is stacked close to the next tray (probably about 1/2"). The second option lets you position the tabs from the top of a tray with the standoffs on the bottom of the next tray. This gives you about 1" of clearance between each tray. A very nice option to have.
The manual is lacking in explaining this but a simple look at how the trays are constructed shows you everything you need to know.
Inaccurate negative reviews don't help the community in being able to properly assess the product we are looking to purchase and isn't fair to the manufacturer.
I can't comment on the reliability of this food dehydrator but for the money, it appears to be just what I was looking for.

Joe : Drying PLA
Nothing fancy. I use for drying filament for 3d printing
Dog-N-PonyShow : Fun and inexpensive kitchen gadget
I bought a food dehydrator hoping to make dried okra which we love. Unfortunately, this is the one fail but I can't fault this dehydrator. We've used it for apple rings and beef jerky and it does a super job! I haven't experimented much beyond that but so far, it's been super easy to use. For the price, it's definitely a fun thing to add to your kitchen.

john musgrove : Other uses for dehydrators
I bought the dehydrator to dry 3D printer filament. I have no idea how well it would work as a fruit/vegetable dehydrator.
Guliza : Recommending.
Good quality products!

Dehydrator itself works fine. The trays are another story. After using it 1 time I put the trays in the sink to wash them. I picked them up and 4 of the 5 were broke. I know they aren't dishwasher safe but I guess hot water isn't his fire them either. I have 1 tray left after one use.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
