Is this what is called a “slow pitch” jig?

Answer: I don't know exactly what a slow pitch jig is. This is what I refer to as a flat fall jig. I use this jig and other similar jigs like the nomad streaker and buffalo jigs predominantly to fish for bluefin tuna on the southern California and Northern baja California coastline.

Answer: A slow pitch jig is a center weighted, keeled jig. As it falls it through the water column it spirals,flutters, and sometimes glides through the water.

Looking through the other reviews, damaged product seems to be a theme with the 300 gram gypseas. It nothing major and the time a snapper hits it there's gonna be some teeth marks anyway but I really expect better from a company like Nomad Design. Honestly I can get no name jigs cheaper and they don't have this problem.
