Michael : Not what I expected.

I’ve caught many a bass on the good ole Arbogast jitterbug. The only bad thing is, they’re not weedless. I came across this yappa frog. I just knew I could have that plop plop over Lilly pads and weed beds, through grass, etc. Unfortunately it doesn’t have that plop plop. Just glides over the water. I’ve even tried walking the dog with it and it’s no different than a popper. Not any action. The front lip that’s supposed to walk and give it that plop plop is the same material as the rest of the body. The lip is too soft to make the lure do what our old jitterbugs do. Would be better if it were hard plastic, or even metal that the jitterbug has.
I use braid for topwater and I thought the braid was hindering the action. Tried it with 12lb mono and I got the same results. Just glides across the surface.
I’m discouraged in this frog. It looks like something that would produce some explosive strikes.
Put on a hard plastic or metal lip. I think that would make a world of difference.

Very easy frog to walk with the big lips on the front. Great frog to learn to walk if you don’t know how. The skirts are a pretty good size as well.
