Answer: The silver or gold works best for me!

Answer: I use silver and gold. I'm unfamiliar with the multicolored lure.

Answer: It depends on different circumstances, species of fish targeted, water clarity, etc. you can't go wrong with the gold. I have caught just about every freshwater species with it. When I first started fishing as a child in the 70's they didn't have all these color options pretty much just gold or silver and gold was the go to. I recommend buying the gold, trying it and going from there.

Answer: Solid gold one. I have used the rainbow and brown trout but haven't had as many strikes as the "plain gold one."

Answer: I use it with the swivel tied directly to the lure. Always have great success with this lure.

Answer: Either way is good in a river,but when I'm in a pond trolling I like to use a leader of 2 to 3 feet...!

Answer: You'll get better action with a swivel. I also added a split ring to ease lure changes.

Answer: I don't know... I use a small one... on all of'em.

This item never arrived. I talked to Green Mountain after the lures never arrived and they were going to resend them two day, no charge. That was almost two weeks ago and they still haven't arrived. I would never order from Green Mountain again. This is a small order, but important as it's a great lure and I was looking forward to fishing it with my grandchildren in hopes of catching brookie, brown, and Colorado cut throat trout.

I have 4 of these in the 1/4 oz. size in silver, gold, silver nickel/blue, and silver nickel/green. The silver colors are better when the sky and the water is clear while the gold works best in cloudy skies and dingy waters. If you've ever fished with Kastmasters (which are also made by Acme), these lures work the same way except it has a much wider wobble. Everyone knows these work well for freshwater fishing (works on rainbow trout and bass) but these can also be used for surf fishing. I took these out to Long Beach, CA and caught 4 fish in a little less than 2 hours. I've included a few pics of my catches which include a 1 lb yellowfin croaker and a 1.5 lb pacific bonito. I've found through my experience with the lures that the best way to fish these is a slow, steady retrieve. Excellent lure!
