The TATULA 100 is the smallest and lightest reel in the series. It is the most comfortable and palmable reel seen in many years. And with a feather weight of 6.9 ounces it may be the lightest, most fatigue free, reel Daiwa has ever built. The Zero Adjuster spool setting and T-Wing System level wind, casts longer and more accurately. The comfort is enhanced by redesigned Soft Touch Handle Knobs. Is this saltwater reel?

Answer: It is not designed for the salt. There are no seals in the reel. It could last a while or it could break down quickly.

Answer: While it could be used in saltwater it is primarily a freshwater reel. It is very small to be a primary saltwater reel and would need to be rinsed in freshwater after saltwater use.

Answer: Yes. Great reel. I've been a Lew's fan...but this Tatula is sweet! I started out with 20# braid...but now have 12# mono on it...and it casts great.

What side of the reel is the handle on a left handed reel?

Answer: it is on the left hand side. the left handed reel is intended to use your left hand to reel and to hold your rod in your right hand. I am right handed and I prefer a left handed reel since i can more strongly hold on to the rod when the fish is pulling.

Answer: The specific one you are asking about is left handed meaning the handle is on the left.

Answer: Left. I’m a right handed person. I like my baitcasters setup like my spinning combos. So I buy left hand baitcasters. I don’t see why more don’t. They must like to constantly switch hands after casting.

The left-handed 7.3:1 is currently out of stock, when will it be back in?

Whats the drag rating?

Answer: 11lbs I believe..its a great reel. I like it's size. Just dial it in and I've had no significant backlash yet. I like it for finesse lures.

Jesse : What you really want to know about this reel

So, I didn't purchase this reel through amazon and I actually gave the one I bought to my wife because I wanted to try left handed retrieve and quickly realized my mistake. ANYWAY, for what the reel is I think it performs fantastically. I like the t-wing system as it creates less friction on the line and allows for better line flow. While I was using it I would nearly be spooling the reel with light lures with little effort. Another thing to note is the tension knob and this is something i've seen a few people gripe about. I don't know if they don't understand the concept fully but it's also in the name if you look at it. Zero-Adjust. Meaning it is tuned from the factory to need little to no adjustment and is meant to NOT be adjusted like a normal baitcaster. Your main adjustment point is actually the brakes. The Magforce braking system is pretty brilliant in my opinion. This reel can handle lighter lures with ease and cast as they say "a country mile" or whatever. Please do your research and decide if this is for you. I think this is a baitcaster simplified and I would not hesitate to buy another which I'm close to doing probably once I save enough. Again, do some research but if you want my opinion, give a it a shot. It's a solid reel and handles well and was comfortable to use while I did use it. Thank you.

I'm on the water fishing. These are excellent little reels. Handle light casting baits and big strong fish easily.

Chai H. : Does not work as intended

Everything on the reel works fine except for the tension knob. The knob is stuck so bad that i had to use a plier to adjust my lures when i tie something on. Tension knob is tight can't use fingers to adjust it at all must use pliers and its tight which ever way u turn it. I should've returned it but didn't want to deal with returns so over couple months i was just able to tolerate this problem and it still persist but now i am barely able to adjust tension knob with my fingers now most of the time. It's still doesn't have a smooth adjustment but it works okay now. T wing system is not bad but not impressive either. This is my first Daiwa reel and i dont know if im gonna buying anything else from them. Totally not worth even if this reel was working perfectly, with the same budget your better off getting a Shimano SLX its 100x better then this reel.
