My Vesta Precision works flawlessly with any and every "other" brand product just better and quieter than my old Foodsaver Vac 'n Seal. The old Foodsaver model NEVER held a charge and was so loud I worried it would make me deaf even with earplugs. I use it daily and have never had to recharge it after the first charge. This unit is so superior.

Answer: Yes. You do it the same as with other food. The liquid stays below the top of the bag because the chamber is shaped to keep the liquid low and the sealer high. One word of caution; do not do this with hot liquids. Let them cool first. The boiling point is way lower in vacuum than it is in our normal atmosphere. Physics.

I love vacuum sealers but hate a huge unit of my countertop. I have used a little Fresh Saver rechargeable vacuum sealer for four years or so. It never held a charge. I had to leave it plugged into the wall and I would disconnect the cord at the unit to be able to use it then plug it right back in. It was so loud I kept earplugs in a little medicine zip bag in the drawer to try to save my hearing. It worked, but poorly at best.
I currently live mostly alone since my husband had to take a job out of state. I like variety so I use staples slowly. I find vacuum sealers really useful for preventing freezer burn and store all my staples in mason jars by vacuuming the flat sealer tops using the "FoodSaver Wide Mouth Jar Sealer" (If saving staples DO NOT BUY REGULAR SMALL MOUTH JARS OR TOPS).

I've never had a vacuum sealer as they always seemed bulky and fussy. This is small but works very well. I've used this to freeze fruit pieces and meat. I've also used it to store grains at room temperature.
Be careful on uneven surfaces - you may think it doesn't work but it may not align with the port properly. Moving it slightly fixes the problem.

This vacuum sealer seems to work really great once you get it positioned right on the bags, pretty powerful suction. While it comes with a few bags, I also bought a box of their bags to use to store frozen home-made dog food in, and to try in my new Souse Vide cooking attempts

I own a counter top one which is in storage somewhere and i only used it about 3 times 5 years ago. Didn't think i needed it then because i mostly cooked meals for 2 days worth. Well, I need it now for all this bulk shopping. I was short on containers to store food and realized some of the food might get freezer burns by the time we ate it so i bought this Vesta handheld and used it for the first time yesterday. Very quick to charge and so easy to use. I decided to shrink almost everything and ended up being in the kitchen for 3 hours. I shrunk the grapes and homemade soup(after they were in the freezer) and shrunk chicken and turkey drumsticks and even crackers. I wish i could shrink my pots and pans. After you place the food inside the bag, seal the top securely ( like the ziplock bags). There's a round circle located at the top of the bag(facing the right side of you) to place and hold down the vacuum. There are marking lines on the bag to write what food is inside. That's the side that should be facing you when using the Vesta. I had to readjust how i was pressing it down to get the bag to start shrinking. You'll hear a change in the sound when the bag is shrunk so you can let go of the start button. If you keep pressing the start button, it will still make a sound but it has stopped shrinking the food on its own. After using it twice, i can tell the vacuum isn't shrinking anymore and i can let go of the start button. Plus you can see the food as it's shrinking and release the start button if you feel the food's shrunk enough. The booklet has pictures and instructions and tips about which foods can be shrunk and how long they last in the fridge or cupboard with and without suction. The box came with bags but i had also ordered a box of 15 bags. The bags are reusable of course. I have 5 left but may order more. I had fun using the Vesta and i'm glad to have my containers back. It was also nice being able to see the back of my freezer for a change. Stay safe everyone.

The description makes it sound like it can be used on any kind of plastic bag. Only works with theirs and not adaptable to others. As far as bottles are concerned, it may vacuum seal the bottle but without a special cap yoiu can't remove it. Don't waste your money.

Got to replace one that I bought from site on Facebook. Old vac lasted a little over a year. Thought would try this and bags from old sealer work perfectly. This unit is easier to get vacuuming going than old one. If looking for a small vacuum unit this will do the job.

This appliance is very difficult to keep exactly straight while pumping out oxygen from mason jars (with special attachment-not included) wasting time, effort and energy for the jar not to get o2 out. I don’t recommend this product for the use that I tried it for. It may work best with the baggies that you can get with them. I wanted to use it for dry canning, but I’ll just stick with the car brake bleeder kit. It’s cheap and easy to use-no electric needed.

I live alone and wanted something to keep my food fresh rather than throw it out. If you don't hit the seal just right you can be standing there for minutes trying to suck the air out.

I like that you can charge with a usb cord. It works well and holds a charge. I bought this as the one I had wouldn't hold a charge (it was years old). Does the job, works on the sealer bags.

I have had this for over a month and have used it almost every day. I bought it because of the size, it takes up very little room in my kitchen. So far, it has done everything I need it to, and I haven't even needed to recharge it yet. It has been very useful. Great purchase!

I use my Foodsaver almost everyday, including the vacuum bag attachment. So I I ordered the "Vacuum Sealer by Ves..." it is as goog if not better than the original on my Foodsavor. I love it. I guarantee you will like it too.

I've never had a vacuum sealer as they always seemed bulky and fussy. This is small but works very well. I've used this to freeze fruit pieces and meat. I've also used it to store grains at room temperature.
Be careful on uneven surfaces - you may think it doesn't work but it may not align with the port properly. Moving it slightly fixes the problem.
