Just curious, after loosing my first two, I was using a 60lbs fluorocarbon leader attached to 65 and 80 lb power pro. anyone using a heavier leader?

Answer: Your set up is identical to mine, connected by double uninnot. Only loss was to a Sea Lion , which bit off , or broke the spectra. Never used heavier leader, but if fly lining would use a Kreh loop knot to attach hook for more natural movement of bait on such thick leader.

Answer: I had 40lb flouro leader and 60 lb mono. Sierra Mackeral (or something) bit them off immediately. Went to cheaper jigs. Try wire?

Answer: Yes, It is made for slow pitch jogging.

Answer: Yes, it does! the replacement hooks are made by Owner, and they are single hooks that are designed to hang properly. You can also use it for burning topwater! The blue and pink do a great job on Bonita, and the black anchovy and the squid version is excellent for topwater burning for yellowtail. They do well on all types of tuna.

what size jig should i use for fishing ~15-30lb Amberjack, Bonitos, Tuna?

Answer: It depends on the depth you will be fishing them in. 80-100gram are good for surface to 50' 130-160gram, 50-200' and 200-250 gram 200-400'

Answer: It often depends on sea conditions; I would start with the small size and move up if jig drifts out of the fishing zone

what material is it made of ? Is it lead?

Thinking about using these for tuna out of san diego. what are some solid color/weight/line combos? thx!!

Answer: The flat fall glo in the dark, phantom squid, black anchovy, and gold orange are working very well, in 200 to 350G. The Line weight is great at 50 to 80 lb braid, depending on the reel. If you are going to burn topwater, find some of the flat falls in the 100 to 130G, same colors, and add scrambled egg pattern. Looking for topwater poppers? No problem! Shimano Orca Poppers? got tons in stock, as well as coltsnipers.

Answer: Just got back from a 6 day trip and they are recommending nothing bigger than 130 gm. 80 and 100 better match what they are feeding on.

what size test are you using with the 160g weight?

Answer: We used Power Pro or Suffix Braid 50 lb test with 60 lb Seaguar fluorocarbon leader. We caught Snappers and Jacks in Costa Rica.

Answer: I fish these with 65 Lb Hollow Braid and 50 LB Fluorocarbon leaders. use a heavier main line and use a leader with a test just under the limit of drag your reel will apply to the line.

Answer: Fish right out of the box. It is designed as you see it. You can find videos on YouTube on how to fish using this technique. No additional hooks are needed.

Answer: It can be fish right out of the box. However, if using for big game fish like blue fin tuna, it might be a good idea to change the hooks

The flat-fall jig is the most consistent tool in my saltwater fishing arsenal for tuna, amber jack, and Bonita. Use florocarbon leaders in the day and mono at nightfall. Use the heavier weights to drop a lure through smaller schools to reach larger fish. They usually strike about the third wind upwards.

Best jigs I have ever used.
I have tried three colours (black anchovy, fantom squid and chartreuse all in the 80g or 100g size), and all three of them have yielded great results.
I've caught grouper, muttons and even a 4 foot lemon shark off the bottom with them. Jacks, barracuda and mackerel underneath the boat, it seems like everything hits them.
If you chum appropriately and use these lures vertically or reel them horizontally through your chum slick you are almost guaranteed whatever fish is there.
I will say I have gotten hits off of them while they fall but never a hook up.

Excellent lure but the assist hooks are too small and line holding assist hooks to lure is too weak. Replace with heavier duty assist hooks, or you will loose big fish. One real advantage of these lures over speed and diamond jigs; you can free fall 'em and don't have to wear yourself out constantly raising and reeling.

San Diego fishing scene raves about these things. I've yet to get bit on one. Looks like it should work though has a nice action on the drop. I'll keep trying! One thing I dont like is that the finish comes off pretty easy. No bites yet, it comes off just from rattling around on the guides when in rod holders.

Works great! Just let it fall to the bottom and reel it up a bit and let it drop again and repeat. I only got a couple of these jigs, because I wasn't sure how well they worked compared to the Shimano Flat-Side Jigs which are awesome. I did catch some snappers in Costa Rica with these jigs before losing them to the mackerel slicing the line. Would definitely buy again.
