Fishing bait moIds are used to produce DIY soft plastic baits.

MoIds are made from heat resistant engineered stone.

Plastisol (soft plastic) needs to be heated to 180 degrees Celsius (356 F) and injected into the moId using injector.

When making baits you may add color pigments, attractants, glitters etc to achieve the desired look of the bait.

Oil based greasing or cooking spray can be used to oil the moId prior to casting. Although it's not mandatory, it simplifies the bait extraction process and give a nice glossy look and needed scent to the baits.

This product is only the bait moId itself. Additional materials like plastisol, coloring etc. needs to be purchased separately.

I thought it looked great when it arrived! Looks can be deceiving. The claws weren't cut deep enough to allow plastic into them.. I tried over 5 times and read everything possible online to figure out why only the body would fill up. Finally out of frustration I spent 2 hours with a file making the claws to deepen them before the plastic would enter but now the mold has abrasions from the file and the baits are coming out rough. FAIL!

jeff : Pin holes in baits

Cannot prevent pin holes in the baits.
Pre-heated mold, hotter mix, colder mix, nothing will prevent it.
The passage from the sprue is too small and lets the plastic solidify before the body is done cooling.

The baits work, but look pretty rough.
