Are the spoons themselves 4.5 inches or is that the total length with hooks?

Answer: I don't have them with me, but I'm pretty sure the spoon itself is 4.5 inches. The hooks add another 1 to 1.5 inches. These are larger then a typical fresh water spoon. But boy are they pretty... :)

Answer: The spoon is 4.5 inches, this does not include the hook.

J. McIntosh : Update: finish came off :(

Original review: I haven't gone fishing with them yet, so I don't know if they'll "slay" the fish or not. They're a bit bigger than a standard spoon I'd use to catch Northern Pike, but boy are they pretty! Damn nice looking spoons. I guess they did their job, they caught me!

Update: After sitting in my tackle box for almost a year, I finally had a chance to try one out on a small lake with 1-2 lb Northern Pike. Caught one the first cast! Caught 5 more over the course of about 1.5 hours casting. It did well, but with the very first strike, the pretty finish started coming off. By the time I caught what I wanted, the lure looked like it does in the picture. The finish seems to be more of a "hydrographic water floated" image than painted on. Whatever it is, it isn't durable. Still caught fish w/o the image on it though. I only used one spoon. Its the one on the far right in the image shown in the listing.
