Do these float? I need for these to float.

Answer: Bounce of the water, when trolling, no they do not float

Does this lure melt in the car?

Answer: I have only stored them on my boat and in my garage but had no trouble with them melting.

Answer: I am uncertain of that answer; however, I would definitely NOT leave exposed in my hot car; my gear is always covered and in a rig bag or box.

Answer: They shouldn’t, not sure what temp you are dealing with but I live in South Louisiana and have had no issues.

What size and type of hook would you recommend for this?

Answer: The size of the hook depends on what size fish you are going after. Size 7or 8 for Mahi and 10-12 for Marlin would be my answer.

Answer: I do not use them with a hook, pretty soft, and I think first bite, and the bit would tear the flying fish,,,, but I used them as teaser,three in the roll, with a bait fish, and hook trailing, they bounce of the water just great, and does the job, good luck

Answer: I attached 5 of these together (with 150 pound mono 2’ apart as a TEASER CHAIN) with a Blue/White Rig (most any kind of top water trolling lure, 6.2 a 7.0 knots) to catch MAHI MAHI, since they feed on flying fish, and it is highly effective! The look and action is very good with these particular YDZN lures!

Answer: This lure is huge so a big hook, probably needs to be 3-4 inches long
