I know that scale does not read ounces, but if you catch a blue gill will it say .50 lb for example?

Answer: yes but you have to zero the scale

TARE (net) weighing means what ?

Answer: Tate means to 0 the scale out by doing this place the gripper on the scale and then press Tare

Answer: Tare takes into consideration the weight of any object or container you have attached to the scale before weighing the object you want to weigh. For example, if you zero the scale before you attach the spring clamp then attach the spring clamp and weigh your fish, the weight shown on the scale will show the combined weight of fish and clamp. You can also set your scale to zero with fishing net attached. Then you can leave your fish in the net when you weigh it causing less damage to the fish if you want to release it. Hope that wasn’t too confusing!

I just bought this thing why does it not turn on? The hold light is on but the screen doesn’t come on.

Answer: probably cause its a load of rubbish. Screen on my one stopped working 2 months after I got it, it was sitting in a dry box in my boat, was only used twice. Send it back for refund.

Answer: Oh no, I don’t know about other people’s results but I couldn’t get the gripper to hold a 4lbs bass! Probably not anything over 50lbs for sure

Does this weight fish that maybe under a pound

Answer: Not that I know of but the OZ on this scale is incorrect because you will have to convert it to know the exact OZ. For example, the scale will weight and display 2.34 lbs, it is not 2 lbs and 3 oz, you will have to multiply .34 by 16 to know how many oz.

Answer: when you turn on the Reelsonar when comes up Kg hold down the button until it starts flashing then you can change it to lbs.

Answer: You need to calibrate it with or without the gripper. You can always re-calibrate it at anytime. I found that it is accurate- or + 0.01 My son caught a shad we weighed it on the boat it was 5.89 at the weigh station it was 5.9.

What does rare mean

Answer: I think you mean "TARE". It's the weight of an empty container or in this case the fish gripper. Put your fish gripper on the scale press tare and it will go to zero so you are not adding the weight of your fish grip or bucket or net, etc.

Answer: It means it hardly ever happens, where someone has to ask what a word means in the question section of an item listed on Amazon, and could have had the answer to their question in no time, had they typed the question into a search engine, instead of the question section for fishing scales listed on amazon. Answer: My experience wasn’t good. I bought last year used few times and stop working . Change battery and nothing. I bought one more this year and sometimes I have a hard time to start and take a readings. If this one will go bed I’m not going to buy another one.

Answer: No, it is not waterproof. Perhaps, water resistant but definitely not water proof. I kayak fish and after continual water exposure my scale died. If I could do it again I would wrap the body of the scale in a sandwich bag or something.

Insane bargain! Scale is not exact, but pretty darn close. For weighing fish, it works good enough (0.05+/- lbs). Comes with a retractable ruler. Sometimes the ruler can be a nuisance to pull out, but not a big deal. Can weigh in kg or lbs. Comes with fish lip gripper that holds on really well. Power saving cuts off power to the scale after a while of not being used to save juice on those little AAA batteries. Wish it was AA batteries instead.

Measures to nearest 10 grams or roughly .02 lbs. Tested various items up to 12 lbs. against trusted digital kitchen scale, and it is right on. Once you set to Kgs or Lbs. it will default to that next time you use it. Easy to use and sturdy. Only knock is that the display locks in a weight after 8 seconds. Sounds like an ok feature, but in practice, most live fish are still flapping around after 8 seconds, so you don't get an accurate weight. Have to remove fish, reset to zero, and try again.
