Questions about Amarine Made 12v 180 LED 10.8W 900 Lumens Lure Bait Finder Night Fishing Boat Submersible Deep Drop Underwater Light
Q:
what is the size of the light?
Answer: The light cylinder is about 1 foot long, light is very bright....works great !
Answer: the light ( what lights up) is roughly 2 inches long. I would seal the ends up (with silicone glue) like others have done. I feel like it would leak.
Answer: The lights I bought are about a foot long but yes I did seal them with silicone too.
Q:
What do i need to get in order to make the light work with 110 v... connect to the wall...a regular 110 socket? tia
Answer: The light is for 12 volt D.C., that's a cat or boat battery. You cannot plug this light into 110 without a transformer, also it will burn out if not submerged in water. Better option is to get a different light fixture
Answer: Plug it directly into 110V AC and I'm sure you'll ruin it in a spectacular way. You need a 12 volt DC adapter. Many available and pretty cheap. Need to supply a bit over 1 amp (1000mA) minimum... but it wont' hurt if you oversize and amp or two. Should be 12 V DC regulated output and be sure to get polarity right.
Q:
Is this legal in California?
Q:
Do these come in 1080 Lumes?
Q:
If i cut off the battery clips and add a cigarette lighter type end, it will be the correct voltage right?
Answer: Yes, but remember the led lights have to be run the correct way not like a regular light.
Q:
How long will one of these lights last on a normal sized 12v 40 amp hour car battery?
Q:
Do these lights float?
Answer: The light does not float.
Answer: No they do not float.
Answer: No they will sink on their own. I would think they need to be submerged to stay cool.
Answer: No they dont.
Q:
Can i run this off my vexilar ultra pack?
Answer: I use to but the battery life will be less. I bought a separate battery. Now both units will run all night.
Answer: Don’t know which model you have, but if it has the positive and negative adaptors to clip on, it works
Q:
accidentally got hooked up to 120 volt--don't ask how-long story-is it ruined or is there a fuse somewhere???
Answer: I would say that it's no good.
Q:
I want to connect 3 of these lights to an AC plugin what do you recommend?
Q:
How much power dose it pull? Can I run off a 6 volt?
Answer: I haven't tried it on a 6 volt so can't answer that question. On my 12 volt I've fished for a couple hours max at one time and not notice any drain on the battery. These are LED lights so they draw very little power. Could likely fish all night and not drain a fully charged battery.
Answer: The rating is 0.9 amps DC at 12 volts. Have not checked it at 6 volts, but it's not rated to work at that voltage.
Answer: I am not positive. What I can say is I ran my trolling motor battery down to where my meter read only 3volts and the light still looked just as bright. The battery was so dead it didn't have enough juice to run my live well water pumps. I would assume it would do well with a 6v
Answer: All you need is a 12 volt marine battery and it will be fine
Answer: Run it off 12vdc only.
Q:
Does it float?
Answer: No, it does not float.
Answer: No
Answer: no, it is made to sink
Q:
Can you just hook this up to a 12v lead-acid battery?
Answer: Yes that is the kind of batteries that are on my boat.
Q:
An the warranty is ? seller please, this is a standard detail that should be listed! so what is it?
Q:
Will this work on a 24 system?
Q:
How many of these can be run off of one 12v battery?
Answer: I ran 3 for 5 hours one night and 6 hours the next without recharging a typical trolling motor battery
Q:
Can this light be used out of the water or will it burn up? Some underwater lights get too hot to be used above water
Answer: They do get hot out of water
Q:
Will an ac/dc adapter work? i have one with a 5a output?
Answer: That should work fine. Just ensure correct polarity when connecting.
Q:
How long is the cord that comes with the light?
Answer: I love my light! it has not leaked or proved to be what others end up being. Don't forget to unhook it from your battery. Have not submerged over 12'. I use it weekly during the spring and summer.
Answer: Cord is 10 ft
Q:
They say the globe is replaceable. Is this the LED component that is replaceable? Bill
Q:
Can the light use out of the water more than 5 minutes , as the light is water-cooled
Answer: Never had a problem with over heating. But I dI use it in water mostly. Very bright.
Answer: Yes it should not have any problems iv had mine n for an hour
Answer: I would recommend not doing that as they get hot and will burn up
Q:
Are the wires bare copper, or tinned like all marine wiring should be?
Answer: I believe bare copper but it is well insulated and no water touches the wires I take it salt water fishing all the time and it has held up
Answer: why did you ask the question? if the tips are not tinned! tin them yourself. Or go to bas pro and pay 89.99 for the same thing. P.S. copper corrodes much slower than lead. unless you are in the ocean. Jack waggon.
Answer: i didnt look at the connector to see if it was tinned, i will tell you its a great value and it worked good.
Q:
can it be used in salt water fishing or only used in fresh water (Lake) fishing?
Answer: They can be used in either salt water or fresh water.
Answer: These lights can be used in either types of water.
Q:
Will this work with smaller lead acid rechargeable batteries like 12v 7amp?
Answer: Yes I'm sure I'm using a 12 volt 7amp game feeder battery and will run light all night with no problem
Q:
I want to use this off a fairly tall pier (about 15'). Will this work or if not, how can I extend the cord length?
Answer: The cord on my light is 16' 6" from the clips to the base of the light with about 6" of that being exposed wire. I estimate the wire to be 14-16ga,( similar to trailer light harness wiring). I would think you could cut and splice in 2 conductor, 14g stranded wire, and at least double the length without excessive resistance issues but that is just my opinion.
Q:
What is the diameter of this light? Can it be dropped thru a scupper hole on a kayak?
Answer: The one I have is 1 and 3/16 inches. If the scupper hole is big enough, it should pass through.
Answer: I believe it's 1 1/2 x 8"
Q:
Will this work with a smaller 6 volt lantern battery? If so, would it affect the brightness?
Answer: It would work but probably drain it faster
Q:
is there a white light version?
Q:
Will this light still work, if I installed a dimmer switch?
Q:
How can i use whit my generator?
Q:
What color light would I need for catfish?
Answer: I've mainly used my green for crappie and stripes but have caught catfish under them to
Q:
has anyone tried extending the cord? how? I used mine this weekend and fishing from shore was disappointing due to how short the cord was.
Q:
How deep does the light go?
Answer: I tie mine off so they will drop to 15 feet deep. The cords are 25 foot long on these lights.
Answer: The cable is at least 25 ft. long and works well. If you are interested in squid, order the green light.
Product reviews of Amarine Made 12v 180 LED 10.8W 900 Lumens Lure Bait Finder Night Fishing Boat Submersible Deep Drop Underwater Light
Dallphman : Great Light Great Price
I had been unable to locate an underwater light at my local stores, but I really wanted get one before the end of the season. This light was quite a bit cheaper than the ones I would have purchased from the stores I had visited and so I assumed it would be poorly made. I was wrong. This is a great light and it is super bright. The cord is a little bit shorter than I would like but it was easily spliced and lengthened. I had read that it could leak, so I sealed both ends with Aquaseal before the first use. The pictures I took are through the ice at a depth of 40 feet. It is clearly visible. The pictures of the glowing ice are with the light about 6 feet undercthe surface. It does attract fish too, although the trout seemed to be a little wary of it when it is down deep in the water.
Rodney h. : But so far so good
A little smaller than competitors
Mac : A very nice product with one modification
A very nice product with one modification. I removed the alligator clips after ordering a Marinco 12v plug from Amazon. All went together nicely. I'm still on the hunt for a protective case to store it in when not in use. I'm sure I'll find what I'm looking for on Amazon. In the past while night fishing, I seem to have better luck drawing baitfish using a white light. I have a couple of green lights that I submerge, but the green light does not draw the shad around the boat like a white light. This light should do the trick.

Great for the price.
Aaron Kirkpatrick : Great Fish Light
This has been submerged in brackish (salt and fresh mix) water from over a month and is still working with no modifications. I've had to clean it off with a paper towel, but that's it so far. Barnacles have not yet tried to grow on it. I've seen plenty of bait fish swimming around it at night.
Big catch ???? : Super bright for its size
Super bright for its size!!!! I fish off the bank with this light. I found a thick piece of Styrofoam cut it to shape round like a 5 gallon bucket then cut a hole center middle and drop the light it there when I put it in the water so it can float. Non stop catching all night long!!!!!! Will order 3 more
DianeO : Looks like daytime! in the dead of night when fishing

Amazon Customer : I have not got to use it on the water ...
I have not got to use it on the water yet but has worked wonders for emergency lighting when the power goes off. I bring my boat batteries in every winter and keep them on a trickle charger and with this light it will light up our whole house. It is unreal how bright this light is! I will be getting another one for back up on my boat.

Jason Proveaux : Great light!
Amazing value for the money! I converted this light with a 12 v wall plug completely sealed in lexall and plugged it in on my dock for three years ( never unplugged it ) and the damn thing never quit! Always had fish swimming around my light at night. Caught plenty of nighttime snook right off my dock!
Wyatt Miller : Dual purpose
Bought this light to go fishing on vacation at night and it more than did the job. Not only did it attract fish it entertained the kids while the adults caught the fish.

I sealed the ends with silicone prior to use just because others had mentioned doing it to prevent water from getting in. I bought 1 of the green and 1 of the white and they both worked great but the white attracted more bait fish which is the exact opposite of what I thought would happen based off of what I have read online. I plan on getting plenty of use out of these with no issues.
