An these be used in a worm farm?

Answer: No, they are going to be used for catfishing. NIce big plump worms and the fish eat them up!

What temperature can they withstand? Do they have to stay refrigerated or can the soil reach into the 70's?

Answer: No. Canadian Nightcrawlers must remain refrigerated. They can handle high 50's and low 60's for short period.

are these worms is the picture, same as delivered? not just a box of newspaper and one big worm and a bunch that look like they've been cut in half

Answer: Canadian Nightcrawlers typically run 3-5" in length and diameter of pencil. If you want a smaller worm then you would want to order European Nightcrawlers. I also sell baby Nightcrawlers which are Canadian NIghtcrawlers that have not fully matured and they usually are 1 -1 1/2" in length.

How do they ship and from where? I don't want to receive melted crawlers.

Answer: You would need approximately 1500-2000 worms for 1/2 acre.

What kind of food do they like?

Answer: You can feed them slightly dampened newspaper and cardboard. Do not use chlorinated water to dampen paper.

Can these Canadian night crawlers be bread in Southern California in trays outside?

Answer: No, Canadian Nightcrawlers are a cold weather worm and are not a composting worm. They can not survive in temperatures over 50 degrees.

I want to use these worms to enrich my lawns soil. Can they survive in this capacity and survive the summer in MA in land next to freshwater pond?

Answer: Yes, Canadian Nightcrawlers will burrow deep in summer months to avoid heat and cold in winter months but will be towards surface in spring and fall or at night.
