Would this be a good reel for large amber jacks?

Answer: I’m using it for rock bottom fishing and so far so good. Just caught a 28 pounders and the reel has no problem pulling it up from 254 yards.

Answer: I would not use a level wind for amber jack

does this reel come with cast control?

Answer: No. This reel is designed more for bottom fishing.

Where do I choose what size rear does it do I want the 50 side of the 60 size

How does it cast ??

Answer: This is a big reel, I use them for Trolling for salmon on the great lakes or reef fishing in the ocean. But you could cast heavy {like two, three ounce weights } with them if you adjust the spool tension knob and thumb the spool to stop any backlash, they are very smooth reels but for casting I think there are better options. again this is a big reel.
