Answer: Used a green one yesterday. Heavily weighted sinking fly. Wear a hat and sunglasses, as they can pack a sting if you miscast.

Answer: These are regarded as small 'streamers' which means they sink and you generally swing them across the current, and strip them back to you. They imitate various food types, but are most often likened to leeches. If you're new to fly fishing check out www.howtoflyfish.orvis.com I found this very useful. There's also an orvis podcast which is great for when you're starting out.

For the price, these work just fine. The majority of them last for awhile, although I have had a couple fall apart after several uses. I live hours away from any fly shops and have bought these several times and will continue to do so.

These are ok, not the highest quality and some are a little weird. Keep in mind you're getting a great price, and they are on Amazon. These aren't high end flies, so great for the beginner or someone that loses a lot of flies. And guess what? They still catch fish.
