How much do they weigh ?

The product I recieved was the original chatterbait not the elite, like the description says. There's no link to contact seller so how do i fix this?

What size hook is it?

Answer: It appears to be a 4/0 or 5/0

What weight is size "0"?

What size is this item? Is it 1/4? 3/8? 1/2? Hard to buy without this info....

Answer: I am not sure. I have a combination of all sizes. They all work great. I am focused on finding the color that is hot. My best lure of 2014 & 2015 was the black & blue which comes in the smaller size. Fish from 8" to 46" last year. It has been my best bait for the last 2 years. I have all sizes and a dozen colors.

Answer: Hook size.

What do it weigh

Answer: The one I got was 3/8 oz, which is right for me because I add a trailer which adds a bit of weight. Good thing is that the lure has a #5 hook, that's the only size I use. The lure also comes in 1/4, 1/2 & 5/8 oz., but I'm not sure if that is an option to get a different weight. Hope this helps, good luck!

Answer: They are 3/8oz and there ok but I like a 1/2 ounce or even a 3/4, they cast further and stay down better, but unfortunately it doesn't specify very well.

Do these work for crappie?

Answer: Chatter baits do work for crappie. You are better off with a smaller version. May I suggest 3/16 or less? Also, the flash back mini chatter bait is very good and only comes in crappie sizes.

Answer: It's a 5/0 hook. Hooks use a number scale when they are small and then grow bigger like 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0 etc

Answer: I've never tried them in salt water

Answer: They work... they aren’t salt water grade. Wash them well afterwards so they don’t rust. FYI: the hooks can bend if you hook up with something significant.

Answer: my scale is fairly accurate and it reads .4 oz or 11.5 gms hope that helps

What size should I get for Bass fishing?

Answer: All the sizes work for Largemouth Bass. What I'd recommend is that you match the lure size to the recommended lure weight range printed on your fishing rod and consider the size bass you are targeting. Bass aren't very fussy when they're motivated to strike. Even a 2# bass may be inclined to attack the largest chatterbaits. That said, bigger lures for bigger fish is a good rule of thumb. We've caught LM Bass ranging from 1.5 - 5.2 lbs recently on chatterbaits.

Answer: I think all of mine are half ounce. Trailers are the key. I like paddle tail swim baits and Havoc devil spears. Bend the top edge of the blade back slightly and straight for more vibration. Tight lines!

Answer: 3/8 or 1/2 depending on the water depth. The heavier one for deeper water.

Is this an EWG type hook?

Answer: It's not an EWG, but it is a heavier wire hook. Depending on the weight you get, it'll have a 4/0 or 5/0 hook. The shank of the hook is straight.

You cant go wrong with any of the Z-man chatterbait lures. Good vibration, easy to use just cast out and do a nice steady retrieve. If there’s bass in the area they will hit it. Found out this year that snook like them too. Flat out catches fish ????

These are advertised as coming with the EZ skirts. However I have received a few from different orders with the "hand tied" skirts. I personally haven't had much luck with the "hand tied" ones. They fall apart really easy. Otherwise I love chatterbaits.

The product I received was NOT the product in the description. I received an original Chatterbait when the picture and description clearly says Chatterbait Elite NOT original. I don't think I've ever written a bad review. The product itself is in perfect condition and works fine. It's the seller that I'm disappointed with. There's a difference between both products. The elite is more heavy duty which promises to be more durable. The most important difference to me is the clip which has been upgraded to a Mustad Fastach clip which is not only stronger but easy to attach.

I've got a trailer on this and the action through the water is great. You can feel the chatter in the pole too as you reel.
The bait itself is good and warrants 5 starts but with a trailer I've been getting hits but missing getting them hooked. The hook on this thing is very good and very sharp but I've ordered some trailer hooks. Just to let you know. A trailer hook, if you have say a 4" plastic on this will probably be necessary.

Caught a white bass first time out and he really slammed my 1/4 oz., chartreuse. 2nd time at lake, I caught an 18.9 lb. Blue Catfish on a crawfish color, 3/8 oz. 3rd time out, with my buddy, we caught close to 40 white bass, all released, (but we were using small crankbaits). 4th time at lake, I caught three, 2 lb. blue catfish on chartreuse, and had several hits that I missed. This lure is a crazy, fish-catching lure. I was averaging 1 catfish on a lure, every 10 years, and they were dinks. I haven't gotten onto the bass yet, but I ordered a 3/4 oz. lure to fish deeper water. This lure is fun to fish, casts good, and can be retrieved slower than a spinnerbait, but still feel the vibration on my rods. Only problem I've had is that the wimpy snap on the blade broke on one of them. But I have more back-ups in my tackle box.

Once upon a time I was a very serious bass fisherman spending anywhere from two to five days a week on various lakes. That came to a screeching halt about 15 years ago. With in the last six months I am slowly getting back into fishing only not as serious as I once was and now fish out of a kayak and not a bass boat. 15 years ago as far as I know the ChatterBait didn't exist. Now I find out it's all the rage and I had to try it out. It did not disappoint. It's so very versatile and can be used in so many situations from the thickest cover to open water, shallow to deep water, just below the surface to bounced along the bottom and jigged anywhere in between. Fished at fast or slow speeds. I'm truly impressed.

My favorite chatterbait. The color I received was quite the color I thought i ordered but with that aside if you’re looking for a great chatterbait for a good price this is it. A good middle ground between the original and the jackhammer in my opinion. I’ve bought a few recently because I use them so much a naturally lose one here and there.

It has a gold plate. The yellow skirt has gold glidder and the white party of the skirt has silver glidder. It came with a 5-0 hook. The paint and hardware all look great. The skirt looks tied to last.
