Michael Simko : Deadly Panfish Soft Plastic!

Recently picked up a pack of these soft plastics in the Tuxedo Black color. 2 ways I have them rigged are on a 1/8 ounce black jighead and weightless with a trout hook.

I have found these soft plastics to be very realistic and are deadly on all types of panfish. Smaller largemouths in flowing streams have also attacked these lures.

On my most recent freshwater fishing day I found 2 schools of bluegills stacked up near shore at a small pond. Once I threw the weightless rigged Mr Crappie out there, those gills were going nuts! I landed a number of bluegills with 3 of them being in the 8" 10 ounce range.

Used the weightless rig in a small local river and have landed largemouths from 2" to 10". Redbreasts have been very aggressive with this lure in the local streams too.

The material is very good quality after all the times I've had to push the hook back through due to bluegills and redbreasts attacking it so much.

With this lure's action, I can only imagine getting into a school of crappie or yellow perch at a lake or pond and nailing trout in the spring and fall on numerous streams.

***UPDATE***
Was fishing a small pond with the weightless rigged Lightning Shad, and when I came to a certain area, those crappie were coming right up from the bottom and nailing it! Retrieve was cast, count to 10, then use it as a slow sinking jerkbait with small jerks. Right on the pause a 10" crappie would come up and nail it!

Another small pond has been producing yellow perch with the lure by doing the same retrieve that had crappie going.
