Questions about Berkley Gulp! Fat Floating Trout Worm Fishing Soft Bait
Q:
For the purpose of adhering to fishing regs that require unscented artificial flies or lures only, are these unscented or has an attractant been added
Answer: Mine have a scent and flavor to them. Not sure if they come without anything.
Q:
I am a noob at fishing. How would a rig this up and also how would i fish this bait? Would i use retrieve method or like dough baits and let it sit?
Answer: would not be retrieved, would be still fished either under a float or with a lead weight on bottom, best rigging would be wacky style, which just means put the hook through fat part in the fat part in the center of the worm
Q:
How would you use this for a river?
Answer: My husband is the fishing expert. He says to use it like you would use a regular live nightcrawler. That would mean sinkers. Having so much success with nightcrawlers right now fishing for catfish that we aren't using any lures right now. Hope that helps.
Q:
How many are in the package?
Q:
Do they have a smell
Answer: Yes, Gulp smell.
Answer: Yes! Not particularly strong or undesirable. If the worms are in a pack, not so much. In a jar filled with brine, Yes! Great bait.
Answer: They are in a resealable bag and melts moist. So me are scented and some are not. I love to fish with them and fish love them too.
Answer: Unscented.
Q:
Best color for trout?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Depends on your region, here in the East, in rivers, pink and grasshopper colors have been outstanding for me, but you mind find chartreuse or natural worm might work best for you. Experiment, and I suggest at least 2 or 3 colors on hand. Some colors will work some days. But at least 1 of them needs to be Pink.
Answer: I like fluorescent orange, is my favorite. But I like yellow and natural too. Catch trout on all three colors.
Answer: In my experience, the bubblegum pink works best. The fluorescent orange is a close second.
Answer: I use pink when fishing for trout and have not been disappointed since
Q:
How many pieces in the bag?
Answer: Husband says there were 10 in the bag.
Q:
How many does it come with?
Answer: I never counted...I should sometime...But I am pretty sure there are ten, but that is not guarantee.
Q:
Is this item comes in a jar or plastic bag?
Answer: Plastic bag
Answer: I never received this item
Q:
Anyone know the quanity..surely its not just 1?
Product reviews of Berkley Gulp! Fat Floating Trout Worm Fishing Soft Bait
Richard W. : Great.
Love using Gulp! Alive baits, lets me stop and fish using life like bait.
Titty Mathew : Not that effective. Dried up fast and hard to put on the hook
Not that effective. Dried up fast and hard to put on the hook. Breaks often. No luck fishing with it so far.
Darryl W. Siegers : BERKLEY 2" FLOATING TROUT WORM, YELLOW
WHEN THE TROUT ARE BEING VERY SELECTIVE ABOUT WHICH BAIT THEY'LL HIT, I SWITCH TO THE BERKLEY FLOATING WORM, IN EITHER YELLOW OR NATURAL COLOR; THEY NEVER FAIL TO COAX THE TROUT TO HIT! WILL CERTAINLY PURCHASE MORE WHEN MY CURRENT STOCK IS DEPLETED.
Robert D. Lovelace Jr. : Great fish attractant
I normally use the Berkley power bait trout worms, with great success. However when things are slow, I pull out this more expensive "gulp" version. If there are feeding trout, they typically work. Worm is not as flexible as the power bait worms, but get more flexible the longer it stays in the water. While it is more effective, it does break down a little quicker and tears. This is an okay trade off considering it's effectiveness. I fish it wacky style with the worm pushed over the hook eye onto the line, along the bottom of the stream. If it tears, I usually break it in half and thread it over the hook, just onto the line. I only use Owner Mosquito hooks, size 8 or 10. I have only used the pink and the natural colors. If you are worm trout fisherman, I highly recommend.
smtireman : even though these are small, they are fat and float great... Updated
didn't catch anything on this trip got a few bumps but no hooksets... mousetails didn't work for us either... i'll update after we try them later this year... update: I started using this with power bait dough and it worked great. if the trout got the powerbait I still had the worm instead of a bare hook... you do need to give the fish a little more time to get the bait...
behzad : Touts love these
Trout really love these plastic worms , I combine these with a mice taik on the same tiny hook and catch trout one after another. A Good Product
Yusi : Three Stars
Too easy to be ripped to pieces. Can get fish with it though.

Michael OBrien : Size does matter!
Be careful when ordering, it looks like a nightcrawler in the picture and that's what they call it, but it's 2" long and about 1/16" thick, so it's more like a small worm or what I would call a wiggler, not a nightcrawler. Still useful but not for what I intended.

Greenmutiny : Good
Good
Matthew Harden : looks like a stick
No action it the water, looks like a stick. One time use. Dont recommend.
