Answer: When I was younger I fished the yellow and black and won many bass tournaments.

Answer: Though it's similar in theory, this isn't like a whopper plopper- the best way to fish this is as the first guy said- with patience. Let it sit til they forget, then twitch, twitch ,pause..sit...repeat & hold tight!

Yesterday, thanks to advice from a fishing friend, I tied on this lure. In two hours, I had a largemouth going 9 lb 8 oz and a second going 6 lb 8 oz. Both were taken on the perch color and the lure had been in my tackle box for a number of years without being used. These were the two largest, but we also boated two three pounders before the wind got so back we had to get off the water.

I might be fishing it wrong but I'm using 10lb mono on a MH rod and the line keeps getting tangled in the front prop. I've heard great things about this bait but for me it's a no go.

I bought one of these about 35 or 40 years ago. I am still using it even though it is all beat up it is still my go to top water bait. A tough old bait that is still one of the best. I am ordering kids and grandkids one

Re Vue : I'm disappointed.

The front & rear propellers are soft, and easily jam and stop spinning. The trick appears to be to twist or untwist their eye-screws to get the right tension on them. I don't like that--they should be firm, and should work perfectly out of the box without issue, as long as they're not jammed with weeds. Haven't caught anything on this yet, perhaps because I use it less because of the propellers not both spinning properly all the time. I'm disappointed.

It is a hard to fine lure, the smaller version know as the Devils Tooth pick isn't made anymore but Smithwick is still in business. The company is owned by another company who decided to discontinue that model. I think the wooden lures have certain qualities about them that attract fish. The lower tones emitted by wood travel longer distance in the water. All in all the larger bait is acceptable but not what I was expecting.
