Will this fit on flat fall jigs?

Answer: They are designed to accommodate the Shimano Butterfly Jigs. They may work with others jigs but the intent is for the Shimano Butterfly Jig.

Answer: It should, yes. I am very happy with mine. Wrap them around hooks, artificial lures and flat jigs!

Answer: It should, but the caveat would be that the jig has the tri point hook(s) at the bottom or the regular loose hooks at the top as it would be dangerous to use these where the wrap goes over a tri point hook.

Do hooks penetrate material ??

Answer: Yes they can but rarely do. it is made of wet suit material. I use them often and they are quite useful. I have bought more.

Answer: No, not with normal handling pressure. I've been using these for about two years to keep my dogs from getting hooked and they work fine.

Answer: No they do not if you put them on correctly.

Would this be acceptable to use in combination with a rod sleeve to prevent my treble hooks from getting stuck in the plastic sleeve materials?

Answer: I prefer hooking the lures to the hook retainer on the rod just above the rod handle and then tighten the slack in the line leaving a small amount of tension. The rod sleeve shouldn’t reach down that far so the hooks will be clear of the rod sleeve.

Answer: It might work depending on where you locate it on the rod. We're thinking if you put the lure down near the handle and then wrap it with the Butterfly Cocoon wrap...it should work.....not sure if your rod sleeve is wide enough to go over the entire wrap and lure. Just a thought.

Are these for fly fishing rods?

Answer: Sure ....... I use them primarily on my fly-rods. It works best if you can locate it over a line-guide ........ helps keep it in place.

Answer: No, they're to wrap around butterfly jigs or any heavy weigheted bait. They keep the weight wrapped tight to the rod so ther bait doesn't flop around and break the rod or something else

Answer: Really, they can be used for any rods on which you wish to arrest the movement of the lure.

Answer: I imagine they could be used for them but they are mainly purposed for holding weighted lures down so when you are running offshore or home, the weights don't bounce around and end up falling off and swinging around and hitting you in the head.

I like the hole of the eye and it keeps these in place. Stops my rods from getting beaten up with lures slapping in the wind when in the back of my truck. I would like a little more Velcro on them as to get them tighter, but they work as is fine.

they don't wrap around the rod you have to insert the rod and a rod with large eyelets are a bit tricky. ill make it work is the only reason I wont refund it. if money is tight save your cash or make something home made for free.
