3rdGen : Great for planted rainbows in CA

Most of the trout in CA are planted by the state. There are natural brown trout and native rainbows, too. And, don't forget the smaller Golden Trout. If you are fishing with kids and you want them to catch fish, I recommend this bait highly. Use a # 12 or #10 egg hook with 2 or 3 pound leader. Pierce the egg with the hook and allow the barb of the hook to stick out slightly. Why? If you bury the barb of the hook into the egg, you will sometimes miss a hook-up because the egg will slide out of the fishes mouth (sometimes). In the Sierras, this bait works every time for me. Use the chartreuse color !!

If everybody knew how good this bait works on stocked trout they'd be fished out in two days!! If they put 250 in the pond I believe I could catch 247 of em!! Probably should be agin the law, but I'm glad its not!!????

I have tried this bait mulitple times now and, even though it is Summer, I have been disappointed with the results, as there have been no bites at all, not even nibbles. I am hoping that, once fall sets in, this will change. We shall see.

Meh, didn't catch anything. These tend to fall off the hook too.

Honeslty I also live in southern California and catching a fish here is an equivalent feat to doing a triple backlip while cooking breakfast...so, yeah. They might work? Didn't for me.
