3rdGen : Great for planted rainbows in CA

Most of the trout in CA are planted by the state. There are natural brown trout and native rainbows, too. And, don't forget the smaller Golden Trout. If you are fishing with kids and you want them to catch fish, I recommend this bait highly. Use a # 12 or #10 egg hook with 2 or 3 pound leader. Pierce the egg with the hook and allow the barb of the hook to stick out slightly. Why? If you bury the barb of the hook into the egg, you will sometimes miss a hook-up because the egg will slide out of the fishes mouth (sometimes). In the Sierras, this bait works every time for me. Use the chartreuse color !!

love this bait cant tell you how many times I caught my limit of trout. Use a gold #10 0r #8 salmon egg hook with a slip bell sinker rig, make sure the hook is completely covered with a small ball of bait, the bait will stay on the hook!

marc : Not as good as powerbait

I bought this one and powerbait. The powerbait out fished this one by far. The fish hold on longer to powerbait and I get way more fish when using powerbait
