Answer: Yes, I fished it with split shot weights about a foot from the bait and it floated a foot from the bottom. Without weight it will float on top of the water.

Answer: Usually size 14 and no larger than size 12. I like Owner Mosquito hooks, very light weight.

I have probably caught eight or so trout on these and a salmon. very happy with them.. of course, that was in a stocked pond, so take that with a grain of salt. the seasons have been changing so less luck lately, but if I paid a dollar per fish that I caught and I still have some left for next season I would count that as a win...
