Are the netting holes small enough to keep in small shad type fish that are tiny like 2-3 inches? And is net sturdy?

Answer: It's a very nice, sturdy net. Yes - small enough to keep in minnow-sized fish.

What is the length of collapsed size & height & width of net opening?

Answer: net is five-sided max 10 by 12 inches and 12 inches deep. i use mine to fish tennis balls, etc out of my pool. works great for me.

How long is this net when extended?

Answer: This net is 37" with hoop retracted and 58" fully extended including hoop. The handle is 27 to 48" long.

how fine is the mesh? is it as fine as a fish tank net?

Answer: I skim my pool with this net, could also be used for live well, fish tank., etc.

Answer: Purchased this for my son for his bait well on his boat, it’s a well constructed net. I’m not sure this would work for indoor tanks because it’s pretty large. If your tank is huge it might work.

Answer: It's not fine like a fish tank net, slightly more porous but very strong.

Answer: Bigger holes than a fish tank net If were thinking of the same fish tank net. Stretched out these holes are around 1/2 inch.

Answer: I’m not sure if it’s stainless or aluminum, but it doesn’t rust, and it’s a nice light weight.

Answer: The fish would have to be pretty small. Not what I purchased it for. It would work for panfish or smaller trout.

I want to use to scoop crawfish out of the river reeds. Is this a very sturdy net?

Answer: No. I don’t think it is sturdy enough for that. Wire hoop is a little flimsy, and the plastic neck that connects the pole to the rim can crack pretty easily. I strictly use mine for scooping bait from the live well in my boat.

Answer: Never used it in a wet environment, its only been used to catch and release stray birds trapped inside my house, announcing their feeder was empty. Seems to be pretty sturdy for any use.

Answer: The net is fitted around it’s frame.

What is the full length of the aluminum handle? 30" fully extended or can it go farther?

Answer: The handle extends an additional 18 inches for a total of 48 inches.

Answer: Emily - it can extend considerably farther. We sold our boat so I have not used those nets for some time but I would say about 4 1/2 feet.. maybe longer.

Does this net float?

Answer: There is no material in my net that floats however if dropped in water it will float until the aluminum poles fill with water. The description mentions wooden dut there is no wood in my net. The netting is nylon lastswell in the outdoors it’s a little to light weight but no floaty.

Answer: It doesn't detach completely - it just shortens (telescopes). Depending on the size of your suitcase, it may work.
