Answer: 9 volt battery futs fine, you may have it in upside down, contacts are down inside the handle.

Answer: I had to put a penny on the non terminal end of the battery before closing the battery door in order for the battery terminals to make contact.

Answer: It's very close within a 1/4lb. Like most though; a few hard drops and it will be less accurate . I keep mine in my boat bag.

Answer: Define accurate. No scale is 100% dead on. It is pretty accurate but if you are talking for tournaments then use the same type and brand that they use. There can be slight differences in ounces between scales based on brand, type, age and usage.

Answer: No tape measure. Weight only. I own a nesting sanctuary and enlist duck and turkey hunters to do the physical work that I cannot do. We use this to weigh turkey and geese. We have use a ruler or tape measurento measure spurs, beards, wing spreads. That said it requires to be held straight up and down for an accurate read.

He had one prior to this one, but it had manufacturer problems with it. But for your answer, I've never emerged might even in water,

It doesn’t lock well, allowing drop the fish and hurt it.
The scale isn’t practical neither precise.
I would never buy it again or recommend to anyone

I watched Major League Fishing and noticed this was the scale they were using, in Bass tournaments it helps to quickly weigh each fish before putting them in the live well so that later you can take the smallest one out to replace with a bigger bass. The problem is doing it quickly, which these do. However, it would be nice if they were at least close to being accurate, but testing them against 3 other scales I have......they are not even close.
On a 3# weight, they weighed it at 3 pounds 11 ounces, on a 5 # weight it showed over 6 #'s. Too expensive to be this far off, even though they are easy to use, I would not recommend them due to their inaccuracy.

Gets a foggy haze inside when it's muggy or cold. Not waterproof at all, but does well if kept dry in storage. Don't leave it on the boat.

Bought this scale (made in China) to go to the gulf redfish fishing. Worked when I got it. After two uses it stopped working replaced battery still would not work. Contacted Berkley paid to ship it to them 5 weeks later a new one shows up. It works but they want $9.95 shipping. now i have a scale that works but cost another $20 due to shipping. Bad Idea Berkley. I am sick of Chinese junk, should have stayed with my Zebco spring scale I have had for 40 years.

This is the biggest disappointment I've ever seen. I purchased one and on the first fishing trip for blue catfish ( nothing over 10 pounds ) all of th sudden it didn't work. It was all loose and the digital scale did not come on. The fish grip still worked. I sent it back to the factory and they sent me a brand new one. One fishing trip... for blue catfish and after 3 or 4 fish thrashed around this one did the same thing. Scale did not come on, the thing was all loose and wobbly. Biggest piece of junk out there. I guess if you are going to catch docile fish like blue gills or such, its fine. Don't expect it to hold up to any fish that is eager to get back into the water. Total Junk! I give it one star because the game lip still works. For 50 bucks, hardly a deal.

I tried to like this, but it's just no good. The gripper is unwieldy and unreliable, and the scale is quirky and unreliable. I stopped using it after a couple of months. It was a mistake.

Do not waste your money gripper works well but the scale just powered on and dd nothing went fishing after catching a pike the screen turned all kinds of colors. Terrible product from Berkley and for the price you pay.
