Answer: Left. Great reel! I have reeled in several salmon in the 20 lbs. range with this reel and have had no issues with it thus far. It's a great reel for a new center pinner.

After 6 months of use, the only real negative is the reel's inertia is slow on start up. I ordered a set of ceramic bearings to rectify the issue. Why spend hundreds more on a reel, especially if you find out float fishing is not for you. Don't get caught up in over priced marketing name brands, this reel does the job with ease.

Definitely an entry level reel. Did not feel comfortable. The reel knobs fell apart after about 2 hours of fishing. You can get a a Chinese made one for a lot less for the same quality. My advise, if you're serious about getting into pin reeling do more research, save up more money and buy a real deal not this REEL deal.

This is an outstanding reel at an outstanding price. Got it for $80-100 cheaper that I could get it in Australia ( including postage). Postage was also quick and easy. The reel is super smooth and is exactly what I wanted.
