This Mepp's Ultra Light Aglia, which is also called the Wooly Worm, is a great lure to use for many fish of small and medium sizes. In spring and fall when the fish are going for spinners, this lure has caught me many different fish. By using an ultra light or light rod and reel with 4 or 6 pound test, this Mepp's has caught me bluegills, pumpkinseeds, redbreasts, crappie, yellow perch, white perch, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, rock bass, rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, chain pickeral, and grass pickeral. Biggest fish it has caught me was a 16 inch chain pickeral. That was even my very first chain pickeral I had ever caught, and look at what lure did it for me.

I've been using the plain hook silver Mepps, size 0 or 1, for trout fishing for 30 years, and it rarely fails when they're feeding subsurface. Put a Power Bait Trout Nibble on the hook, and those hatchery-raised fish eat it up. Last time I visited my nearby trout lake, I started at 5:15 AM and had my limit of 6 in an hour. I've never caught less than 5 in that lake with this spinner, and I'm a very average fisherman. (Of course it helps to look at the stocking schedule and show up the week they planted them. Hatchery rainbows ain't exactly smart.)
