can you fan the reel means can you spin it with the palm of your hand when taking up slack line

Answer: Yes, the entire reel rim, on one side, is available for palming or adding additional drag with your hand.

Is the retrieve silent? Can you fan the reel to pick up slack line?

Answer: It is silent but not sure what fan tge reel means.

Does this reel and spools come with the carry bag

Answer: Mine came with a black zippered bag that holds the reel and extra cassettes.

Received my reel today and the drag seems to work for left hand retrieve. How do you switch it to right hand?

Answer: There’s a ring at the base of the stem the reel cassette screws onto. That ring has to be turned over to get the reverse action. I believe there are some screws that you take out to access the ring than turn it over and re-secure it with the screws. I bought that reel as a gift and had to do the same thing. Unfortunately I don’t have it now so I’m going by memory. I think there is a video about it in the questions part of the ad. Hope this helps.

Answer: Sorry but I do not know. I got mine and it was also set up for a lefty. I am right handed but I have always set up my fly reels for left hand retrieve so I was happy with the reel the way I got it. Good luck.

Where is the line identification system? It is missing from the packages of the first two I received as well as the second two.

Does this have a sealed drag system ?

Answer: I could find no evidence of the drag being exposed when I removed the spool. The drag seems to work well and the reel turns easy when you are retrieving line and it has adjustable drag when line is leaving the reel. I think this is the way you would want it to work.

Answer: As far as I recall, yes...but the interpretation of sealed comes into play.

can it be used left and / or right handed?

Answer: The reel I got is set up for left handed use. I am right handed but have always used my left hand to operate both my fly and spinning reels. I guess you could use this reel right handed but the drag system would not work as it should. There was no operation manual with the reel so maybe there is a way to reverse the drag system and use the reel right handed. Suggest you look for a manual on the internet.

I bought a Gray one and a Green one. I oped the Gray one and was happily surprised and prepped it for my trip on Sunday. I turned and opened the green one and it barely would turn in either direction. I am sad that I believed that the quality and inspection of an item didn't happen on this one. This has caused me to quickly search for a replacement unit that I can prepare for my trip. Most in retail stores are 175% of the price of this one. I have to go into a store in person. Does not make me want to get one. Not safe. This sucks. I leave on Sunday and not prepared at all because of this.

Ordered black got green dont have the time or patience too send it back, also a little grind while reeling overall you get what you pay for, I should of spent more on something else I geuss.

Good quality product, doesn't feel cheap especially for the price you pay. Honestly the three spools with the reel is what sells it, my only concern is with the gourmet holding the spools in place. Hopefully it can handle the abuse of taking on and off the spools. I can't wait to get all 3 spool lined up
