Product Description
Fish see color differently depending on water clarity and light levels. They can see more than 40 feet in clear water, 14 to 16 feet in stained water and 3 to 5 feet in muddy water. Some colors are highly visible to fish at one time during the day, and invisible at another time. Researchers don’t know how fish perceive color, but they do know which colors are most effective at catching their eye in different water and light conditions.
At Smartbaits, our lures will change color according to fishing conditions, including temperature, water column, depth, and other factors. They have the remarkable ability to imitate live, bleeding prey fish as they move through fluctuating water temperatures and thermoclines. These color changes imitate what prey fish do in nature and will trigger fish to strike. At Smartbaits, we only use high-quality materials with attractive styles. Our color changing baits are valuable in any tackle box, and can provide the kind of versatility needed for a variety of situations.
Patented Color Changing Technology
- Activated by water temperature. They will change from a light color to a dark color or a from a dark color to a light color when moving through fluctuating water temperatures. This color change will attract fish to strike.

Color Changes Everything
Fish see color and shades of the same color differently in different water clarities and in different light levels.
Smartbaits lures will change color according to water temperature and have the remarkable ability to imitate live, bleeding prey fish as they move through fluctuating water temperatures.
Smartbaits will change color at a temperature range of 65F to 80F (18C - 25C), and will change to a lighter color in warmer water, and to a darker color in cooler water.

Questions about Smartbaits Smartbomb Lure - Stickbait - Color Changing Bait (16 Pack)
Q:
Does it work on grouper and red sniper ?
Answer: Sorry never fished for those fish
Q:
how do you thread the hook in these baits?
Answer: Before you attach line to the hook, insert the hook shaft...the end with the eye hole...into the soft bait 1/4 inch farther from the bait head and push it through the center of the bait parallel to the bait body until the eye extension a fraction from the bait head. The twist the hook end until it protrudes symetrically below the bait. Then connect the line with a snap connector.
Answer: Several ways... wacky, texas or drop shot
Q:
I have no idea which baits i should choose. we'll try fishing in santee lake in january. can anybody help me to decide what to order?
Answer: In my area January is usually when the lakes are iced over but if you follow the theory to fish slow in the winter time and on the bottom the Smart Bomb whacky rigged or texas rigged is a great bait. Smartbaits also has a drop shot bait called the Straight Shooter!
Answer: Yes sir this group of lakes has Bass, Catfish, Rainbow Trout (Winter only), Bluegill, and Carp. Since these lakes range in depths from 5 to 12 feet I would suggest the Smartbomb for Bass and the Mighty Minnow for Trout.
Answer: It all depends on the color of the water. If it muddy try to stick with bright colors and if it's clear stay with natural colors. These plastics are great.
Product reviews of Smartbaits Smartbomb Lure - Stickbait - Color Changing Bait (16 Pack)
Christina Del Grosso : Too hard of rubber
Didn’t get any fish on these the rubber is too hard for fish to bite only nibbles I got. I even put scent on the worm. After many failed attempts at catching a fish I swapped to real worms and started catching right away
Daniel G Savary : Five Stars
Cant wait to try them
Jason H. : Caught a bass on my first cast! Love these baits!
These new baits are amazing!! I caught a nice 3 lb'er on my first cast into the lily pads. Awesome! Gotta get me some more!
Lab Owner : Your bait loses it's perceived color as it drops through ...
Your bait loses it's perceived color as it drops through the water column where less light is available, but Smartbaits' color-changing and UV light-reflecting glow baits keep workin' for you! The color changes w/ the temperature, ergo depth, of the water and you can always count on the glow baits to stay illuminated when others' baits visibility dissipates in the black abyss. - Bass Addict
Michael Garner : God's gift
They work, I use them without lead. Most
Bass hit them on the drop.
AllGetAlong : Wanna catch bass, get these!
These things WORK. Bass go after these bad boys like nobody’s business! Going to buy more now.
wlcoplan : Where's the rest of my product???

Amazon Customer : Good value - Yes! They change color
Nice feel, good on the hook & they definitely change colors in different water. Worth taking a chance on them.
wlcoplan : Where's the rest of my product???
Item states 16 pack but only received 8 pack. Where's the rest of my order?
Michael Bonin : It worked for me....
I am giving this 5 stars because I caught multiple fish with it, both in heavilypressured lakes and some not many people go to. The color change is pretty cool, must do something to get bites. My only poor feedback is I wish it had more wiggle action on the drop, like a Senko has.
Susan Armstrong : I dont see any differences with things worms
not impressed with them
Amanda Ferrante : Doesnt work
I dont notice any color change when i put them in the water.
Ashleigh Patterson : Great job Smartbaits
I have caught more Bass using smartbaits than any other bait year to date!! All of the baits are high quality and really get the job done!! Great job Smartbaits!!
