sean : What a trip!

Smashed'em! Used this jig with my slow pitch outfit on our annual red snapper fishing trip and killed it. We were on a head-boat from the Florida panhandle. I was never able to get to the bottom. On the 1st drop I got 15ft down and snapper smashed the jig. Drop after drop was a hook-up. I rigged a second set of assist hooks on the bottom ring to hopefully disperse the wear and tear. This proved to be a good idea as I pulled up 2 snapper on the same drop, one on each end of the lure (little guys, tossed back). Later something toothy got ahold of the jig and ripped 3 of the hooks off. But I continued to catch fish of different species with 1 hook. 1 jig=red snapper, scamp grouper, almaco jack, porgy . It was a blast. Outfished live and dead bait while it lasted. As we got to deeper water I switched over to the tackle provided by the charter. Our group got our limit and hit the dock. Largest fish 23lbs. First time "slow pitch jigging" and it was some of the easiest fishing I've ever done. Watch some videos on "slow pitch jigging" to learn more.
